Volunteer Park Family Campground

The tent sites can be decent or real bad. T9 and T14 were horrible sites at the bottom of a hill where all rainwater runs through. T7 and T8 are ok sites. They are fairly flat.

Nice park in areas. I got put in bare gravel area. Had store, pool and propane.

Shady Campground. Level, mostly paved sites. Wi-if just ok. A lot of full time folks. While we were here largest bathhouses were closed for renovation, although no evidence of active work. Available bathhouses were inadequate for size of park and in pretty bad shape. If you use bathhouses I wouldn’t stay here until you had confirmed renovations are complete.

We stayed here for 13 weeks while working at UT. The campsite is nestled in trees and conveniently located to the Knoxville area. They have a small store for small forgotten items as well as a place to fill propane. Kristen the manager was amazing along with Michael who helps keep the park clean an us laughing. We will definitely miss them along with with the park. Would definitely stay here again.

I called and booked the reservation in the same day. Easy and quick checkin. Bathrooms and Showers with hot water. 20 minutes outside Knoxville and extremely quiet.

The staff at this campground are great, escorting my to my campsite and helping me back in. Clean pool and bathrooms and friendly campers. My three daughters and I stayed here for three nights visiting family.

Amazing staff and perfect for a long term stay or just a nightly spot.

Volunteer RV park is right off I-75, on the outskirts of Knoxville. There’s not much around this area, but I think this would be a good place to stay a night or two on a longer trip. The campground is right off the road, but it is very large, and surprisingly wooded, so you could avoid road noise with an interior site, and it could be relaxing for a night. There are several long term residents, but there were a good number of open sites.

The park has a playground with a wooden pirate ship for kids, and a really nice pool. It was crystal clear. The office has essentials, ice, and firewood. There is a laundry facility on the property too.

I can’t say this would be an ideal camping spot for me personally, but for someone looking to stop somewhere off I-75 for a night or two, this place would be a great choice.

I was a little taken back when we first arrived at this campground because of how many people lived here long-term. There were clearly people who had been here for a very long time, even having pole barns put up over there rigs. I was slightly turned off by it because it felt like we were pulling in to a trailer park to camp (nothing wrong with trailer parks at all, just didn’t want to camp at one). We were only there for one night, but my views of the place quickly changed. Everyone here was so friendly and nice, and there is really good community here. The ground are decently taken care of aside from the long-term residents. The pool seems to be clean and the playground was fun for the little ones.

This campground is easy access from I-75.

Pool, playground, grounds are nice and nicely shaded. The kids love the pool and even the 1 foot kiddie pool. Office is also a store with lots of necessities. Only negative comment is the long term side of the park and then that the RV spaces are narrow in between the trees and other spots. Spots have full hookups, or you can select the water/electric only.

We stayed 2 nights here. There were several long term tenants. We had water, electric, sewer, and cable. Since we had sewer hook up I did not use their bathrooms. They had 2 bath houses. There was a pool and store on site. It’s easy enough to get to, it’s less a mile off 75. The sites were level, the park was clean, and the owners were nice.

There is a code lock for the nice bathrooms, the other bathrooms are super gross. But toilet flushes, the shower is pretty gross. We arrived late in the evening and didn’t get the gate code for the nice bathrooms by the pool. In the daylight, it is a nice place. Super friendly staff ad the pool bathrooms were clean and newer. Most of the guests were long term homes. A few looked like they hadn’t moved in years.
