Mcnabb Creek Group

Group camping takes on a different character at this Forest Service site along McNabb Creek in Cherokee National Forest. The campground accommodates RVs up to 35 feet and operates year-round at $30 per night, though campers should note the absence of water and electrical hookups. Multiple fire pits, charcoal grills, and picnic tables spread across the spacious layout, with two portable toilets serving the area.

The nearby river provides swimming and fishing opportunities, while a small creek runs along the far end of the campground. However, one camper noted flooding issues during rainy periods, suggesting the site's low-lying position near water sources. Trail access from the campground involves multiple river crossings that will leave hikers wet. For those planning group outings, North River Campground sits less than a mile south as an alternative. Reserve well ahead for popular camping seasons.

Needs Improvement when raining

Its beautiful camping site, however, it floods with even a little rain. There needs a ditch around the road to keep the runoff from flooding the whole place

Beautiful setting!

This is a large spacious campsite. We did not camp there, but stumbled upon it while out exploring. There are numerous fire pits, charcoal park grills and picnic tables. Very reasonably priced for a group camp. 2 portajons on site. No water or electric. River close by for swimming, playing, fishing. Also a small creek at the far end to play around in. Close to many trails but be aware there are many river crossing and you will get wet! Can’t wait to bring a Group of Girl Scouts down to camp here!
