Newport KOA is conveniently located near I-40 North East of Knoxville, TN.
This campground hosts standard RV Sites and Cabin Sites. They have bathrooms, a pool, WiFi, a dog park, firewood for sale, propane, and more. They have lots of travelers coming through from races and for motorcycle clubs, and RV rallies.
We found this location because we had difficulty finding camping locations in the area and we were pleasantly surprised to see this pretty park!
We had decent AT&T cellular service but TMobile was not as good. We were able to stream and work efficiently.
There are caverns nearby to go explore and of course it’s in the Smokies!
Location is convenient but definitely more suited for campers than tents. Highway traffic noise (semis, engine braking) is LOUD…might be ok in a camper but not in a tent. Sites are small, close together and mostly gravel. Facilities are nice and clean.
Stayed here 2 nights on our way to Nashville. It rained the whole time-of course not the campgrounds fault but we didn’t get to use any facilities. bathrooms were kept clean in spite of rain. good shower with good water pressure. no concrete pads and site was small and all gravel so not level.
