Road trip stop

Stayed 3 nights in sites 12 and 13 on our way across the country. Super clean and very well maintained. Just a short Lyft ride into the city.

Great for an Overnight

I only stayed here for a night while I was driving through. I arrived at the campground after the office closed, but they called ahead of time to let me know all the information I needed to find my site and I was able to find it with ease. The bathrooms were well maintained and it was a nice,…

Beautiful location

The drive in is something not to be missed, one long road that twists and turns. But it’s so pretty. At the campsite the workers are very nice and helpful. They keep the grounds in top shape. You can launch a boat or in my case a paddle board right from campsite. If you have an issue late at night…

Relaxing 😊

when we arrived my fiancé & I didn’t realize the time change. So unfortunately we woke them up. But thank goodness they they didn’t hold it against us. Lol! On our first day we left somethings out & Pete was so nice to put them in our tent for us, because we didn’t realize it was going to…

Awesome State Park with everything you need

Last minute find after check in had closed. Ranger Chadwell helped us find a spot for the night and gave us info about the park.

Bathrooms were clean, showers with hot water sites overlooking the lake were great and it was very quiet at night.

Nice, quiet, spacious

Well kept campground. Lots of space between sites and very hilly- all sites are like a deck. If able get sites lower toward the water. Does have primitive sites

Like No Other

Camping on raised wooden platforms was like no other campground I’ve ever seen. The park ranger claimed it is the only campground in the world like this. Tons to do in the park as well. We went to the visitor center, nature center, storybook hike, and walked around the lake.

Peaceful stay on the water

Very nice campground on Cordell Hull Lake. Kayaking, boating, fishing and swimming are possible. Waterside camping available. Cell service is spotty and minimal WiFi is available to check in with family or check the weather. Very peaceful. Had a nice, stress free 3 day weekend.

Heed the warnings about the southern entrance

We didn't and ended up driving an extra hour to get to the campground.

Our only complaint is the site was not level. When we were able to get the camper level the tongue was 40" high. We had to borrow 6 8X8 blocks from the Rangers in order to stabilize the front

Other than that, we enjoyed the…

Sweet spot

4 miles south of I 40 , 35 miles southeast of Nashville. Very nicely maintained, full hook-ups on the Caney Fork River, just below the damage. Great camp host and very quiet. Stayed in #20 spot, arrived with a 30 minute rain deluge. #20 needs a load of pea gravel to facilitate drainage. Looks as…

Best koa yet!

This KOA is the best I’ve stayed at yet! Easy access from highway, but far enough in that there is no highway noise. Full hook ups and cabins. Bathrooms and laundry are impeccable! Pool is great size and beautiful lawn chairs and pool toys to use. Gravel sites well maintained. Lots of trees.…

Nice park

Beautiful setting and well maintained park. We had plenty of space on our site and many shade trees. At&T had 1 bar but the WiFi pole was right next to our site so we had exceptional connection and were able to stream movies, etc. Large beach area and not crowded at all. We had our bikes and…

Confused with wrong website

This campground is a family friendly place and has nothing to do with “My Whispering Oaks.org”. A few of the seasonal residents keep their sites cluttered. The campground overall is very nice. They are in the process of adding additional pull thru sites. We enjoyed two overnight stays, charging our…
