Whether you're section hiking the Appalachian Trail or seeking streamside camping, Black Bear Resort accommodates various camping styles with tent sites positioned along a creek, RV hookups in the back section, and rental cabins throughout the property. The facility sits about an hour from Boone, North Carolina, providing easy drive-in access with stone walkways leading to different camping areas.
Staff members offer golf cart shuttles to help transport gear to the creek-side tent sites, where campers can set up close enough to hear water trickling throughout the night. The resort includes flush toilets, hot showers, and full RV hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections. For regional exploration, campers can find places to camp around Hampton or visit nearby Dennis Cove Campground for additional Cherokee National Forest access. Early June visitors report quiet conditions with minimal crowds at the tent camping areas.
