Tennessee Wall Camp

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reaching Tennessee Wall Camp requires navigating a winding, sometimes single-lane road through residential areas, so drivers should expect a slow approach and limited turnaround space. A small parking lot accommodates four or more vehicles, and the first campsite sits just 20 feet down the trail from the lot. Five sites with fire rings are scattered through a wooded clearing, and a separate gravel area further along the path works better for van or truck camping. No pets are permitted on site.

The camp sits within Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area, and campers looking for campgrounds near Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area will find the terrain here typical of the ridge, with heavy tree cover and a trail leading down to the river. Firewood can be collected on site. Reviews note that crowding can be a factor on weekends, with nearby groups occasionally generating noise into the evening. Conditions at the sites have varied, with at least one recent visitor reporting trash and graffiti during a summer visit.

Suzie K. describes it as "a great spot to spend a relaxing night" when neighbors are considerate. Electric hookups are listed among the amenities, along with drinking water and ADA accessibility, though campers should verify current conditions before arrival given the mixed recent reports. Cell service is available. For a more developed alternative nearby, Raccoon Mountain Caverns and Campground provides a fuller range of facilities to the south.

Campers consistently appreciated the well-designed sites with fire pits and ample firewood collection opportunities. The location offers good tent and hammock camping in a scenic clearing accessible via waterfront roads.

Avoid.

The road to get to the sites is long, bumpy, and very curvy (so you’ve got to go slow). The sites themselves were full of trash, graffiti, and a homeless camp. We elected to not stay.

Nice little site for tent camping

You take a sometimes single lane road to get there. Very windy at points. There is a parking lot to hold 4+ cars. You walk 20’ on trail to first campsite. Nice wooded area with a trail to the water. There are 5 sites with fire pits. There is one private site past the marked site if you keep going you will find a large level gravel lot with a single fire pit that would be much better for van or truck camping. Past this point it turns back into residential.

Beautiful sites, close quarters with other campers

We really enjoyed our night tent camping here. There is a parking lot right off the road after a fun ~30 minute drive through residential roads right on the water, then sites with fire pits are scattered throughout a small clearing. Plety of firewood to collect on site. There was another group of campers at a spot fairly close to us making some noise, but not too late into the night. With respectful campers nearby, this is a great spot to spend a relaxing night.
