We love the primitive sites at Nathan Bedford Forest! Each site is along the River banks, so you get the best views! Fire pits and picnic tables included. The bathhouse is very old though and does not have a shower. That is the only reason I couldn’t give this one 5 stars!

We spent a weekend here at the beginning of may. The weather was perfect. There are a good number of trees for shade. Our campsite was right on the water which was good for views but there wasn’t a lot of grass for our tent. The sites have fire rings but no grates to cook on. It was pretty crowded…
We love Bruton Branch. Specifically sites 28&29 they are the last of the site but it allows you to have your own little slice of fishing heaven as you are separated from the majority of other people. Right on the water and a breathtaking view to wake up to.

The tent sites were well kept. They are gravel pads with a grill and fire ring. They are right on the water with easy access to put in a kayak. And close to a boat ramp if bringing a boat. It’s shaded. The bath house is a bit of a walk and they have restrooms only, no showers.
Love camping at Happy Hollow! It's small but great people and feel very safe!

Beautiful second campground, part of Pickwick Landing State Park. Over half the campsites are on the water. Older campground, sites are a little uneven. Boat launch on site. 4 unisex bathrooms, could use some updating. Primitive camping, no electric or water. A few sites are big enough for a small…
Would love for the park to be renamed, because it’s beauty far exceeds its namesake. The lakefront sites are really cool and the facilities are pretty decent! Bit of a steep hill to access some of the sites. And some are built on wooden decks.
We enjoyed our visit and the wonderful view, but if we return, we will get a site further from the boat access ramp. There are 2 ramps, but everyone wants to use the one right in the middle of the site at zero dark thirty.
We arrived late at this campsite and left early, so I didn't get a chance to see much of the state park (although the hiking trails looked good), but the campsite itself and amenities were great. We were going to camp at site 9, but ended up camped at Site 14, which was on a loop trail, so a little…

Lovely little campground, but beautiful & serene. Lots of great trails to hike. A good place for a Civil War history buff.
I stayed here on a Thursday evening and I literally had the whole place to myself. It was nice. I couldn't get a for going and my tent poles were broken but I still had a great evening with the river just yards away. There are flush toilets and showers, but no potable water, so plan ahead!
This has been one of my favorite places to escape to since I was a child living in West Tennessee and now that I am almost 50 it is still at the top of my list. This is the goto campground for me and some of the friends I grew up with when we want to spend a weekend together somewhere with a great…
Despite the name, this park pleasantly surprised me. There are 3 different campgrounds and 2 of them are primitive, so there is something for everyone. There are also some backcountry sites along the NBF 10 and 20 mile trails. Some of the rustic camping sites are right along the Kentucky Lake.…
