Tellico Plains/Cherokee National Forest KOA Holiday

We stayed for an extended period , from mid July to Sept 4 2023 . We loved the pool and spent most of our time there since it was so hot. Showers are great, spacious, great water pressure. Pros - are the pool , bathhouses , super friendly staff & owners , small play ground for the kids , and a decent little office with a few essentials and snacks/drinks/ice cream. Close to fun things in Tellico , not too far from Athens , Etowah , Madisonville , and many near by attractions in the mountains. We drove to Cleveland quite a bit too, about 45 min. Cons , if you get a back in spot - you’ll be blasted by the sun all afternoon/ evening .. so in the hot months I’d recommend paying a little extra and the pull through , you’ll have shade from your Rv in the evenings . They don’t have sewer hookup , they come by Mondays and Thursdays to dump your tanks for you with a truck , that’s great .. but .. you have to really watch your water usage so you don’t overfill your tanks as you’re waiting for a dump day. With small children who need little baths almost daily that was kinda hard . We have 35 gal tanks. So if you have larger tanks it might not be an issue for you. Con- no laundry . Tara’s laundry is right up the street in Tellico - it’s not far and it’s a decent laundromat .. but it gets expensive, quick- with small children who go through clothes from playing in the dirt . Also the Wifi is almost useless the farther way from the office - so in spot 6 ,which is half way in the park - it doesn’t really work. If you need Wifi - I’d ask for a spot close to the office , or have your own Wifi. Overall , we loved our stay, would stay again. Great little campground and the monthly discount is why we also stayed a little longer. Would recommend :o) if you stay - I’d recommend trying out Tellico bakery - it’s amazing , and make sure you drive up the skyway to the Indian boundary - beautiful lake up there to swim , hiking trails .. etc .
