Good base camp

Center Hill Campground is a good basic Corp of Engineer created area. You have your sites, your facilities and a playground. There’s also a boatramp. If you like fishing this would work well and if your just wanting to chill at your camper, otherwise some driving will be involved in your…

A let down

The campground is not level at all. There are a few heavy wooden tables, but not anywhere close to the campsites. Tena, the lady that runs the campground was nice, but a little off. When I spoke to her to setup reservation, she was helpful. When we got here, she seemed put out by our presence.…

Open The Floodgates To Nice Camping

This is a private facility which offers security at entrance. When I first pulled up I thought it might be a part of the Corp of Engineers dam site just a couple hundred yards away but it was in fact private.

For only $18 a night I was able to check out a great tent site which was not super close…

  • the flood gates were open when I was there and it was amazing to just sit and watch the water pump through.   The sounds of the water were amazing

  • The road over the dam is a bit bumpy and as they are working on it is set to be improved upon in the near future

  • The entrance to the campground and also the dam area, this is why at first I was confused as to the ownership of the camp.   The fence you see is literally the camp and this road sets very clearly in front of it.
