Where the Great Allegheny Passage crosses Slush Run near Mile 99, Round Bottom Camping Area provides free overnight accommodations for trail users. This hike-in or bike-in site sits directly on the rails-to-trails route, accessible only by foot, bicycle, or from the Youghiogheny River by paddlers.
The camping area features four raised tent pads, two Adirondack shelters, vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional mowed grassy areas accommodate overflow camping when the designated spots fill. A hand pump provides non-potable water, though recent visitors report discoloration, making the short walk to the river for filtered water necessary. Train traffic on the opposite riverbank creates noise throughout the night. For campers wanting established amenities, Lake Eron Park offers full hookups six miles east.
