Forest Road 100- Sisters Oregon

Free roadside camping along Forest Road 100 draws a mix of RV and tent campers to this pull-in site just outside Sisters, managed by the US Forest Service at no cost. Spots are easy to find, even arriving late at night, and the site typically has multiple other campers present. That said, the area is unguarded and open to the public, so campers should be aware of activity around neighboring sites, particularly after dark. Those comfortable with dispersed-style public land camping will find this a functional overnight stop.

Great location

Lots of sites to park. There are long term campers. Spoke to a few who worked in Sisters & could walk/ride bikes to work. As it got later, rain started & ground worried me. At about same time, people were driving by honking horns, yelling. It’s across from businesses/ homes & appears campers are unwanted. I get it but rents are freaking crazy & as I said, people WORKED for a living. Their areas weren’t nasty. There’s stores, laundry, gas nearby. I gave it a low score because I’m a single F in a SUV & felt uncomfortable. I also didn’t want to get stuck in wet sand. I’m sure males would be fine. I continued on to Bend.

Be Cautious

Me and my girlfriend rolled into this free public campsite around 10pm and easily found a spot to set up camp. It seemed pretty good and safe as there were multiple other people RV/Tent camping. But at about 1:30am in the morning someone near us starting screaming at a person to get away from his campsite and was clearly in a great deal of panic. We decided during that incident to pack up and leave in the middle of the night because we felt unsafe and was worried someone might lurk into our campsite like what happened to the other fella. Be cautious because it is public and unguarded.
