Accessible via Highway 20, Lava Lake Sno-Park provides a paved parking area for overnight vehicle camping from May through October. The US Forest Service facility requires permits for winter activities from November through April but allows free overnight parking during warmer months. Vehicle camping only—no tent setup permitted.
The site includes pit toilets and trash service within the large flat parking lot. Cell reception works with AT&T and Verizon networks but not T-Mobile, according to recent visitors. Multiple hiking trails start from this location, and Clear Lake Resort sits less than three miles south for campers wanting additional amenities.
