Oakridge Green Waters Rest Area

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Anglers and paddlers passing through the Willamette Valley will find Oakridge Green Waters Rest Area a functional overnight stop, with the site backing up against a small river and offering green space, a gazebo, and a designated pet area alongside the parking lot. It sits just off the highway, close to Oakridge for places to camp near Oakridge, and draws a mix of van travelers, RVers, and car campers, particularly when nearby state parks and campgrounds are closed or full. Electric and water hookups are available, and the lot accommodates rigs up to 50 feet, with a dump station on site.

Bathrooms are present but inconsistent. Several reviewers note the restrooms are clean and stocked with soap and toilet paper, while others found them rougher depending on the night. There is no hot water in the sinks. The parking lot is well-leveled, cell reception is described as decent, and the site is generally quieter at night than its highway-adjacent location might suggest. Crowd composition varies, and at least one solo traveler found the atmosphere uncomfortable enough to move on.

Campers heading toward Crater Lake or exploring the Willamette NF Dispersed near Larison Rock area use this stop as a staging point. Gas and food are available a short distance down the road. "Relatively quiet despite being by the highway," as one reviewer put it, this rest area works best as a no-frills layover rather than a destination stay. If that fits your itinerary, pull in and see what the night brings.

Good experience

easy access, safe, bathrooms aren’t the cleanest and light isn’t too bright. I easily slept here eight hours.

No-go for sleeping, bathrooms OK

I pulled up around 9pm and there were some people sleeping and some people talking loudly/visiting. The bathrooms weren’t as well-maintained as some other rest stops. Overall it felt a little rough around the edges and I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping there as a solo traveler so I decided to move on. It did seem very pet-friendly which might be a bonus for some people.

Comfortable place for a night

The rest area is really a great place to park for the night. There are old but clean bathrooms , toilets paper and soap, the lot itself was rather quite at night and the parking lot well leveled. Would definitely recommend to stay there. A gas station employee said that you are not supposed to sleep there, but there is no sign, and he said everyone stays there. In the night we stayed at, there were around 5 cars and 3 camper vans.

Quiet and Clean

Good for a quick overnight stay - near the highway but quiet, and the restrooms were clean. There’s gas, food, etc just down the road as well.

Simple but acceptable

All the official campsites & state parks in the area were closed (in mid-May). RV parks had no tent sites and were charging 45-70/ night.

This rest area was simple (no showers, NO hot water in the sinks) but the outdoor area was nice, lots of green space, backed up onto a little river, had a gazebo and a pet area.

Decent cell reception.

Had several vans parked overnight and no one bothered us. Relatively quiet despite being by the highway.

Rest area ok just a little bussy.

On our way to Crater Lake we stopped here for the night. It had a lot of traffic and people coming and going. Other than that it was clean and bathrooms were ok.
