Blue Pool — Willamette National Forest

It's not the same as  Blue pool

We had our choice of first come first serve campsites. A beautiful place with spacious campsites.

There is no running water as the campground water system has been permanently dismantled. You can get water from the creek, though.

Great place to relax, enjoy hiking trails, nap to the sound of the river and enjoy a roomy site.

We stayed at site 19 and loved it! I think it’s the best spot in the campground. Decent privacy and good proximity to bathroom and water. 

The campground water is potable but very salty, mineral-y, and overall weird tasting. Fine for showering, but I’d recommend picking up water elsewhere for drinking and cooking. 

You can hear the highway and train at night, but it’s not too loud for a heavy sleeper. The swimming hole is very close and pretty nice! Tons of water moving in early August. We saw some people floating down the river, but we stayed close to shore. 

No cell service (Verizon), so bring cash to pay for your spot. $19 per night when we stayed

Other spot I usually go was full. Only down side was the sketchy camphost didn’t honor my America the beautiful pass even tho this is in national forest. Great water access tho, bathrooms and trash and water.

Hard to find the entrance while going 55 MPH down the highway. We stopped and camped here on our way from Christmas Valley to home. What we found was a small but secluded camping area run by the BLM with 24 camp sites in total. We stayed at the best site possible, #11 and even thought all the Oregon fires were all around us we still found a gem in the forest. This site was large enough for our 21 foot trailer and F250 pickup with 8 feet left over. This site had it all, picnic table, fire ring, level asphalt pad and a great wonder full easy to get to creek called Salt Creek that ran the entire length of the campground. It only cost us $9.50 to say the night and not the normal $19.00 because we had a passport America pass. Once this campground has running water and flush toilets, but no more as people kept damaging the water system and pipes. thus the picture of the old flush toilet building. We will stop and stay here many more times in the future.

You need adleast 2 or 3 days at the least to be able to see and enjoy all that Blue Ppol has to offer. It’s the most beautiful and serene place I’ve ever been key alone camper at from the soaking the hot springs to dipping ur toes in the bluest and extremely cold blue pools. The stars at night are the brightest and beautiful I’ve seen. Just breath taking every which way you go thru the water falls.

This is a walk-in only campground with Fantastic VIEWS.  Campsites are very primitive. I just can't say how much I loved it here.  Even if you can't stay at the campground, you have to do the blue pool hike.  It is fairly easy and beautiful.

My husband and I spent one night here for a short get away. We were lucky enough to get spot number 4 which is right by the river. It was a super peaceful little site with a hot spring and hiking trails not too far away.

Plus side, the toilet was the cleanest one I have ever seen at a campsite!

Blue Pools is a great family campground, open for walk-ins during the summer. The sites are large and versatile between RV and tent sites. There are paved paths that are great for bike rides. Some campsites require a walk in with parking nearbye.

Blue Pools is a great campground for families. The sites are large and include a water spiket for most sites, with versitile options for either RV or tent. This site is walk-up, but while traveling through on a Friday evening we had many options open. There are paved paths for bike rides, working restrooms, and a swimming hole nearby. Some sites need to be walked into with parking nearby.

This is an okay smaller campground right on Hwy 58, that being said you do get quite a bit of hwy noise during the day which quiets at night fortunately. If you luck out and get site #3,4,5,6, or 7, which are park and walk in; they are right on salt creek so it muffles the noise a bit.

There is a nice little swimming hole at the day use area, but the water is fairly cold. Nice spot for a picnic and a field for the youngsters. Other than that, not much for the kids, except enjoying mother nature as it flows by. You can however take them to the nearby Salt creek falls, which is breathtaking and only about 10 min. down hwy 58. The falls has two viewing areas that are easily accessible for kids, and if they are a little more adventurous, you can take them on the 3.5 mi. loop to the Diamond creek falls. This is a nice little hike through the forest and offers a different style fall with front row viewing.

For the adults, there is also the nearby Mcredie hot springs. It has about 6 pools of varying temperature, split by the creek with access to the other side via a dirt road down hwy 58. I didn't feel this was as family friendly as the falls though. A decent place to warm up, if you can get there when it's slow.

Since this campground is more primitive, don't expect rv hookups or many other amenities. They do have dish water troughs, pit toilets and garbage service. No recycling, and the water bibs were not flowing at the time of my stay. There was a host on duty, but I did not see any wood sales.

Blue pool definitely isn't an attraction in itself, but is was nice to have a spot right on the creek to relax after a day of hiking. A good spot to use as a home base for all the nearby outdoor adventures to be had, and to stop in on your way down hwy 58.
