Reaching Cave Lake Campground requires a steep, mostly dirt and rock road where 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended. No water is available on-site, so campers need to arrive with a full supply. Sites sit directly adjacent to Cave Lake and include fire pits and picnic tables, with pit toilets nearby. The campground operates July through October within Modoc National Forest, no pets allowed. Weekday visits tend to draw fewer campers. For campgrounds near Modoc National Forest, the surrounding area provides additional staging options if plans change.
Description
The Campground at Cave Lake is little used and the perfect place for a week-end or week long getaway.
