Bosch's Big Bear RV Park

Bosch's Big Bear RV Park, near Hines, Oregon, is a straightforward spot for those needing a place to rest while traveling. With a handful of gravel sites that come with full hookups, it’s designed for easy access and maneuverability, making it a breeze to pull in and set up.

The park offers a decent view of the valley, especially from the higher spots, and visitors have noted the nice breeze that sweeps through. While it’s primarily a no-frills location, campers appreciate the clean facilities and the friendly camp host who’s quick to respond to questions. As one visitor mentioned, “The camp host was very responsive to our questions,” which adds a nice touch to the experience.

If you’re looking to grab a bite, the nearby town has all the essentials, including diners and grocery stores. While the park doesn’t have a lot of amenities, it’s a solid choice for an overnight stop or a simple getaway. Just keep in mind that it’s more of a parking lot vibe than a traditional campground, but it serves its purpose well for those on the road.

Fantastic !

We lost our turbo about 60 miles from this site and we called to see if we could spend the night while our truck got worked on. She said yes and met us at the entrance! Beautiful view, flat camp sites, full hook ups. Will definitely stop here Again!

Convenient, but minimal

Website misled as to having a lodge. View to the southwest was very good. Water, electrical, and sewer were good. Not much else here. It’s basically a gravel parking lot with spaces set aside for campers. It was easy off and on the highway. Also easy to pull into the sites. Camp host was very responsive to our questions.

Completely oversold on websire

What a joke! This is a gravel parking lot with 10 packed in spaces. The “view” the describe is a car junkyard on one side and a shed dealership on the other. The lodge they show on the website is a private residence with signs all around saying to keep out. There is literally nothing here but hookups. So the price at 40 a night is reasonable because you would only stay here if you need a place to rest on your travels. The website should be upfront about what this place really is - a parking lot on a hill.

If you read our website you would have seen that we advertise a large gravel parking lot. The view is of Harney Basin, I'm sorry that you didn't like looking past the fire departments training grounds. Yes, the lodge is a privet residence, however it does not say keep out and guests are welcome to use the yard and patio areas.

Second time staying here

Easy off and on US Route 20. Easy to maneuver on the property, into and out of the sites. Sites are spacious. Yet close together. Baby trees will provide shade one day. Property is on a hill. View of the valley, and there's a nice breeze when the wind blows.

Would stay here again.

Easy pull-through, good size, level, clean, good water pressure, and electric. There are young trees between each site. It will be a couple more years and some pruning before they can provide a reasonable amount of shade. Park is up on a hill with a great view, close to the highway, but quiet. The camp host was friendly. Hope they reopen their restaurant someday. Plenty of places to eat in town. The town has all the amenities one may need.

Beautiful views from the sites

Bottom line. Would totally recommend this place. Would stay here again without hesitation. Nice open gravel sites. There is a restaurant attached with the park. However it has not been open since the vid. The staff here are awesome.

Just basic

There are 10 gravel sites with full hook ups. Sites 1-4 have 30 & 50 amp. The other sites have 30 amp only. We never saw any employees, just knew where to park from my reservation. There were 3 other campers the night we stayed. There was minimal road noise. Much quieter than the park at the other end of town where we have stayed numerous times in the past. We would stay here again as an overnight stop.

Under the stars

This is a very simple place to set up the tent. I got here about 10 at night, the website had a map of tent area but no markings at the site took me a bit to figure our. However free wifi helped do work in the am before I left. Definitely want a footprint pad underneath. The wind is good I was at site 10. Could here the road traffic but wasn't bad. Definitely felt safe here as a woman. If they had tent platforms to help anchor the tent to that would have been perfect but Definitely good for RVs The morning view was spectacular. Will come by here on my way back.

Overnight headed out of Oregon

Arrived in the dark and left before the sun came up but it was easy to find and hook up for our first ever night in our Roadtrek. Nice level spot. Quiet and not too terribly bright.

Suprisingly lovely

We are traveling through in a basic Sprinter and needed a place to camp for night. This place was best around. Quiet. On hill with nice views especially sunrise. There is what looks like a great restaurant on site but it was closed. When it opens we will return. What’s not to like camping near a restaurant… no cooking. Bonus

Solid Overnight or Short Term Campground

Bosch's Big Bear RV Park was easy to find and we knew from our pre-arrival email that we were in site 2. We also knew from the website that if you arrive between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM its a $10 charge. We arrived after 1:00 PM, but no one was in the office. There are 10 FHU sites that are pull throughs. However, if you’re longer than about 35’ it is best to just line up on your site in the huge parking lot and back-in. The lane for pulling through is a little tight and we would have hit the nice shade tree they have planted between sites. After we set up, we went back to the office and there’s a chalk board that had info plus a phone number to call. We called the number and talked to the owner who said that her son, who normally manned the office, was out for the afternoon. We didn’t need anything but the WiFi code, which was texted to us. Overall, this is an impressive little campground (CG) that is perfect for an overnight or, in our case, a three day stay. The big and very nice lodge, which at one time had a restaurant, was closed. There is no playground, laundry nor showers, but they do have a porta-potty and a small tent area. There’s obviously water, electric, and sewer at each RV site but also a fresh water spigot and hose at the front of the lodge area and a dump station at the end of the RV sites. A picnic table was set up at our site and there were picnic tables and fire rings you can grab and take to your site, however there was a burn ban so no fires. A WiFi booster is at site three and due to the small size of the CG, plus it was not full, the WiFi signal was outstanding. We got three OTA channels so we set up our satellite with a clear shot to the southern sky. We also got three bars on Verizon. The website provides good info on the CG plus things to do in the area. They are open year round but water is turned off November to March. Hines is just down the road and has your major amenities. Overall, we had a good time exploring the area and would stay here again.
