Reservations are available at Bosch's Big Bear RV Park, a privately operated RV stop on a hillside outside Hines, Oregon, where 10 gravel full-hookup sites sit in a compact, open layout. Rates run $80 to $100 per night, and the park accommodates rigs up to 60 feet. Sites 1 through 4 provide 30 and 50 amp service; the remaining sites are 30 amp only. The access road has drawn some comments from reviewers, with the rough approach worth factoring in for larger rigs. Water is shut off from November through March, so winter travelers should plan accordingly.
The campground sits on elevated ground with open sightlines to the southwest, and several reviewers mention catching a good sunrise from the hill. The layout is essentially a gravel lot with designated spaces, which means minimal separation between sites. It is not a wooded or landscaped setting. One reviewer notes the view includes a car junkyard and a shed dealership on neighboring properties, so expectations about the surroundings should be set accordingly. That said, road noise from the highway is described as minimal, and a few campers specifically note it runs quieter than other RV stops in the area.
Hookups are functional and well-maintained. "Water, electrical, and sewer were good," notes Jeffery H. A dump station sits at the end of the RV row, and a fresh water spigot is available near the lodge building. WiFi is provided, with a booster at site three that gives decent coverage across the small park. Verizon users have reported three bars of cell service. There are no showers or laundry on site, and the lodge building that appears on the park's website is not open to guests.
Nearby alternatives include Cathi's Place RV Park and the Harney County Fairgrounds, both a short drive north. The town of Hines provides grocery stores and other services within easy reach. Sinclair Truck Stop — Hines is another option for travelers needing a quick overnight stop on the same stretch of highway. "On hill with nice views especially sunrise," observed Mary M., which captures what this spot does well. Campers arriving between 8 AM and 1 PM should note there is an additional $10 charge for early arrival.
