Was ok for 1 night

Needed a place to pitch a tent for the night and stopped here. The park is fairly large and has a lot of shade trees around it. Unfortunately, I guess the tent area they normally use was closed and I was directed to pitch my tent behind the front office. It was a small shaded grassy area. For $20, it worked. The only real complaint I would have was the bathroom area could have used some cleaning, both inside and out, washing and cleaning of showers, sinks, shelves, sweeping up of dirt and leaves around the building.

Great campground in Burns

I stayed here years ago and had a good experience so stayed again. Yes, it’s by the main road, but you’re also pretty much right out of town. Road quiets down to nothing at night. It’s still warm in September, so got a spot with shade. Super comfortable. Love all the quail, squirrels and listening to coyotes at night. Drove out to do the Steens Mountain loop, see the Round Barn, etc. Love this area and nice to come back to a comfortable site.

Disappointed

The campsite was level and shady. However, there was a lot of trash on and around it. The restrooms and showers definitely needed attention. They were equipped with soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels, but had not been cleaned in quite a long time. Also, both loops were blocked with campsites, so be prepared to have to back up your trailer or camper.

Decent spot for small town

This is a pretty good spot for a tiny town. I think it’s a bit of expensive at appx. $50/night. My daughter and I went to take a shower, and found 2 frogs in the showers, but other than a that it was a pretty quiet and generally located spot.

Shady, grassy, clean

Very nice stop on our road trip. Spots are gravel, level and easy to access. Showers clean and nicely fitted out. Grass and trees kept the site cool even in high heat. Quiet and other campers were considerate.

Definitely a great respite from a long day on the road!

Great place in Burns

Good campground. A bit of road noise. Also, we had shade. Showers look a bit worn.

Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes...

The store was small but has some necessities and ice. The bathrooms were plentiful and okay. Many sites has partial shade. Close to town. Mosquitoes were horrible.

Great for quick stop

Pretty quiet with friendly hosts. Had great ATT service so didn’t try the WiFi. The Mosquitoes were a little hungry but that is just this time of year. My only complaint is that the showers/bathrooms were not even close to clean. We used them because we had been on the road but didn’t get to enjoy my shower much. Laundry room was clean and worked well.

Pleasant enough, but the road noise …

Nice little even park outside town of Burns, OR and not far from Crystal Crane Hot Springs. Both are lovely. Fast internet, lots of security warnings, make sure to use security like a VPN. Bathroom/showers were very few and a bit messy. I would have given it 4 stars if not for the road noise. Thankfully it is not a busy rd at night. I sleep with earplugs and still bothered me. Would stop here again.

Beautiful smaller RV park. Reasonable rates, very nice staff. Small store with necessities (yes, that means beer). Lots of trees for shade. Level sites. A repeat if ever there was one

Great Stop

This was a great stop over for us coming from Corvallis. We stayed one full day as we have kids and they can only last so long on the road. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. All the sites are nicely groomed. The utility hook ups were in great condition, the bathrooms and laundry facilities on site were in great condition. The local pool is a must stop specially if you have kids, it’s was extremely cheap $11 for two adults and two kids. Also the local park right by the RV park is another amazing spot to go hang out for a few hours. Definitely all the amenities or store that you would need in a close vicinity.

The only annoying part which the owners cant control was the mosquitoes were crazy. Not sure if it was just the time of year or the mosquitoes are always that thick. But just a tip bring mosquito spray or long clothing if you plan to be up outside at night. If you’re a light sleeper maybe request to see if you can stay further back in the park there is a road that is close, and my wife did mention that she did hear the vehicles going by in the evening.

Overall I would stay here anytime again, and if it wasn’t so far out-of-the-way I would probably plan a trip just to come back to stay longer. We had a 28 foot trailer with full hook ups. I was able to park our trailer and full-size pick up in our spot.

Well maintained and friendly owners

We’re just passing through on our way to some national parks, and this was the perfect campsite to stop at. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They have a store as well that offers some items you may have forgotten as well as ice, sodas, coffee, and adult beverages. The bathrooms are clean. There is coin laundry on site. They have lots of camping games available to play and there’s 3 dog areas. Definitely recommend!

Owners super nice

Place is pretty tight especially when full. The shower facilities are older and had a slight sewer odor. They did seem to clean regularly but just a bit dark and outdated. 30/50 amp power, water and sewer. The trees seem to mist on you too (kinda nice when it was 91 and smokey out). Not sure if it’s a sticky spray they emit as we haven’t tried washing car or trailer yet. Laundry facilities present. Easy access and seemed like the better place to stay while in Burns. Seemed like a quick turnover so it’s more a stoping point than a vacation stay place. A lot of out of town workers seemed to be there. I don’t know if we will be back to Burns but if we do we will probably stay here again only because there were no better options

Great stop in Burns!

The campground is clean and the spots are well-managed. The managers are friendly and organized. They have camp items and alcohol for sale until 6pm. There are laundry, shower & bathroom facilities, and yard games on site too for convenience and fun!

Quiet Campground in Small Town

FEATURES:

PROS:

-A firepit with wood is provided for guests. The owner says he sometimes hosts "Smore Nights," for guests in peak season.

-a propane grill is also available for use.

-Our back-in site for our 30 amp travel trailer wasn't too hard to get in too.

-Good wifi, though there weren't that many other people in the park at the time we were there.

-The campground is on a river, though you can't really sit by it or see due to growth along the banks.

-The office was closed when we were there, but according to their website, they have local beer, wine, and snacks for sale.

CONS:

-Bathrooms are small, two showers, two stalls.

-Our site was unlevel so we needed our levelers.

Overall a fine stay. We didn't hear the road much at all inside our trailer. We enjoyed sitting out on the picnic table at our site. Owners very nice.

Okay, but price reflects season, not amenities

We visited during Oregon’s “high” season, so by the time we booked, only back in spots were available for our big rig. Okay stay, just not impressed with amenities for price and that park has sappy trees over spaces.

Pros:

  • Nice place to be for a week. Slower change of pace.
  • Proximity to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Nice staff.
  • Had a little lending library, so donated some books and took a couple of new ones for the road.

Cons:

  • Our back in spot was under trees that drip sap. We have sap on our rig and our tow. The rules allowed you to wash your windshield, but you could only use water in a bucket - no spraying with a hose. First time we have ever had to wash our windshield before leaving a park.

  • Sites, despite an apparently fresh dump/spread of gravel, were not as level as site managers seemed to think. Back of the back in space sloped just enough to cause issues.

Small but friendly

Our truck broke down just outside of Burns and we ended up having our travel trailer towed to this RV park, as it was the only place we could stay for the week while waiting to get our truck repaired. We had a full hookup spot, which was super nice, but the spot itself was pretty small. This is typical of many RV parks I have been too - good amenities but small spot.

There were some other spots in the park that were slightly larger and had picnic tables, but ours did not. We had only a tiny plastic table with 2 chairs, but we were so close to the RV next to us that we were basically either looking in their window or we would have to be right next to the "road'. Not ideal so we didn't spend much time outside.

There was room here for all sizes of campers - from tents (I saw I guy on a bicycle who tent camped for the night) to giant motorhomes with cars towed behind. The park hosts were all extremely nice and helpful, given our circumstances. They also gave us a military discount since my husband is a veteran.

Restrooms and showers were fairly small (only 2 toilets and 2 showers in each bathroom) but I think most folks used the facilities in their RVs. The shop/office sells propane and ice, so we were able to restock on both (plus they have wine and ice cream if you need a little splurge).

The park is right off of the highway so you may get some truck/traffic noise but it didn't seem to bother us city folks too much. :)

Wifi was fairly decent and you can get some local channels in the TV, if those things are important to you.

Dog and kid friendly, but there is really not much for either to do here.

Overall, this suited our purpose, in that we had a nice safe place to stay while our truck was repaired, but I'm not sure I would stay here just for kicks. Close to the Malheur Wildlife Refuge and a great stopover if you need a night to rest while driving through the high desert of Oregon.
