REI Lakes Campground

REI Lakes Campground sits on private property in Springfield, Ohio, offering both overnight and longer-term camping options alongside lake access. The campground accommodates RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station for those needing it.

The property centers around fishing opportunities, with direct water access that allows campers to set up close to the shoreline. Buck B. notes you can "camp right by the water" despite rating the overall facilities as basic. Small boats can launch from the property, and multiple reviewers confirm the fishing draws many visitors to the lakes.

The campground operates with a mix of permanent residents and overnight guests, which some travelers find creates social dynamics they weren't expecting. Sites vary in quality and proximity to the water, with the lakeside spots being the most sought after. Standard campground amenities include picnic tables, restrooms, and campfire areas where pets are welcome.

Campers looking for campgrounds just outside Springfield will find this property focuses primarily on fishing access rather than extensive recreational facilities. Reservations help secure preferred sites, particularly those offering direct lake views and fishing access from your campsite.

Multiple campers highlighted excellent fishing opportunities and waterfront camping access. However, several guests reported concerns about campground atmosphere and policies, with tent camping restrictions and conflicts between permanent and overnight guests creating challenges for visitors.

Weird

Between the permanent residents being annoyed with the overnighters and the Jerry Springer style break up that happened. This place was weird. I do not recommend.
