Pondside Single

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

A privately managed single site in Swannanoa, North Carolina, Pondside Single sits within a forested setting near a pond and draws RVs up to 35 feet on a drive-in lot that reviewers consistently describe as level and easy to maneuver. The host, Karen, is frequently mentioned by name across multiple visits, and the site itself stays well-maintained. Ducks, geese, turkeys, and a range of other birds have been spotted around the property, which gives the pond-side location a lively, wildlife-forward character that goes beyond typical campground scenery.

Electric hookups are on-site, but water and sewer connections are not available. Campers staying more than a few nights should arrive with full fresh water tanks and empty black and gray tanks. A portable waste tank helps for longer stays. The Asheville East KOA allows dump station use for a fee, and Camping World in Hendersonville charges $15 or offers free dumping for Good Sam members. Those exploring campgrounds around Swannanoa will find several other options nearby, including Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground a couple of miles south.

"Close enough to town to be convenient yet it felt very private," notes Laura B. The site runs $46 per night with electric hookups, WiFi, campfire rings, picnic tables, and trash service included. Pets and alcohol are permitted. Reservations are available and worth booking in advance if the stay coincides with events in nearby Black Mountain or Asheville.

Great Spot

Spent 10 days here and was amazing.  You will never find a nicer camp host and the spot was immaculate.  Easy access with ducks(with babies). geese.turkeys and a large assortment of birds.   Had a really nice time here and is very close to Asheville and Black Mountain.  Highly recommend

Ed

Thank you Ed. You knew coming in that Pondside and the lower part of my property were decimated from Helene flood of late September. Our Valley is still in recovery, but you booked anyway and appreciated the new signs of life that this Spring and track hoes have bestowed. You are welcome back any time!

Beautiful pondside paradise

This property is a hidden gem! Karen came down and said Hi and met with us but other than that she left us on our own. Beautiful level lot that was easy to find and get into and exactly as described. We absolutely loved that it was quite and close to the Soul of the South music festival which was why we were in the area. Remember at this spot that you need full fresh water tanks, empty black and gray water tanks, and best to bring a portable black and gray tank if you are staying more than a few nights. A tip: the nearby KOA will let you dump for a fee or the Camping World in Hendersonville charges $15 or free for Good Sam members!

Great spot for visiting Black Mountain area

We spent a night at Pondside Single while visiting the Black Mountain area. Perfect location – close enough to town to be convenient yet it felt very private. Easy to maneuver and level spot, along with great views and new electric hook up. Karen made it easy. We were not sure when we saw it on The Dyrt with no reviews but quickly saw it on another site with 50+ reviews. Great experience and would visit again.
