Singletary Lake State Park offers group camps available to nonprofit organizations. The camps provide a unique camping experience, creating the perfect setting in which to interpret natural surroundings and to unite in work and play. At least 20 people must be in the group, and the group must also be a part of a verifiable organization.

Camp Ipecac can accommodate up to 84 people. It is open from April 1 through October 31.

The camp includes 10 standard cabins (twin bunk beds for 8 people per cabin), and one cabin that is accessible to people with limited mobility or disabilities (twin bunk beds for 4 people total). It also includes an accessible mess hall and an accessible bathhouse with restrooms.

All amenities are provided for campers, except for food, cleaning supplies, and bed linens.

A basketball goal, a volleyball net, a horseshoe pit, a group-sized charcoal grill, and picnic tables are located near the cabins. A campfire circle in each camp offers the perfect setting for an evening of fellowship and marshmallow roasting.

The facilities were built by the Resettlement Administration. The camp was named for Carolina Ipecac, Euphorbia ipecacuanhae, a herb common in the region's sandy soil. Extract taken from the herb's dried roots is used for medicinal purposes.

Army Travel Camp, Quite and Beautiful

Camp Ground is quiet and well laid out. Facilitaies are clean and maintained. Lake was open and fun to play in.

Camp ground is next to airfield, you might get Helicopter nosies from time to time.

    Nice little park

We really enjoy this little state park. It’s small, quiet, and clean. We use it all the time to “test” new camping gear and setups before we travel further from home on longer trips.

Camp Ipecac Group Camp — Singletary Lake State Park

    Nice spot for family/friends gathering

This is a spacious group camping area; You can rent some cabins and/or rent RV spots so if you have a mixed camping family, so came come in their rvs/trailers and others can rent a cabin and y'all will still be next to each other.  The park is on the smaller size but has a few hiking trails that are very nice.  It also has a trail that goes around Singletary lake!  The lake is awesome, great kayaking and fishing!  The area is just away from White lake and Elizabethtown to be secluded and private but close enough to get what you need from the Walmart or Food Lion in town!  There are also a decent number of "hometown" restaurants in town if you want to go out to eat!  Georgio's is awesome!

    Halloween Weekend Oct 26-29, 2023

Absolutely 100% recommend this place. Store: It is one of my top three stores. Offer plenty of games, grocery, apparel, parts, and other stuff. Spaces: Have plenty of space between you and your neighbors. Roughly 2-3 trailer widths between on both sides. Every spot is concrete, pull through, fire pit, and picnic table. Environment: Very friendly!! The lake fun was closed but the puppy beach was not. But there was a hot tub, pool, and kiddie pool. Halloween Celebration: They had an arts a crafts event we did not attend because the kids wanted to swim. But trick or treating was awesome for the kids, adults, and puppies. We briefly went to the Halloween bash but hurried over to go on the haunted hay right through the forest. It was really well done! Bathhouse: There is one but I did not utilize it because I use my trailer. Reservations: Super easy! Military get 15% discount. You can reserve up to 400 days out. Half of it is due at time of reservation and the rest at arrival.

    Great way to unplug

We stayed in site 5 for 11 days. The Yurt had been removed but the platform stayed. We were able to get up our large tent on the platform and have enough space for our chairs. The lake is beautifully kept and clean. Very shallow. You can walk out a good 300 meters. We kayaked and fished while we were here. The rangers were helpful and checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything and kept the trash can empty. All the locals we spoke to we friendly! The down side is you are a long walk to the toilets. This is primitive so no power or water at the site. We absolutely loved it and plan to come back again!

Bring mosquito netting or pop up to keep the horse flies away!

    Quiet and Peaceful

Rangers and hosts are wonderful at this SC State Park. Serene setting on a lake, nice sized campsites. I stayed in campsite 11 which I was somewhat difficult to get get into so definitely only for smaller rigs, the other thing is you might now want to take campsite # 12 if they offer, the water, electric and sewer hookups for 11 are basically in campsite 12 front yard. I was here over two weeks and enjoyed

    Lake Waccamaw State Park Campground

    Looooong Walk

This campground is very beautiful - clean amenities, and only a few well-kept campsites with fire rings, grills and several picnic benches. The sites are all a far distance from one another so there’s no chance of bothering one another at night. We had two neighbors during our stay but never heard or saw them, except when coming and going from the site to the parking area.

The only warning I’d give is you are permitted to drive to your campsite to set up, but sites 2-5 are a quarter mile plus from the parking area. I didn’t read the key on the map, so that’s my fault for not knowing. But just a heads up, especially sites 4 and 5 (we were in 4) are very far from the bathroom. Don’t forget anything in the car.

Beautiful and peaceful setting and wine to boot!

What's not to like. Beautiful, family owned campground. Large spacious and clean well organized sites. Picnic tables and BBQ grills on sites. Pull thoughts. Winery with taste testing hours and wine to purchase. 2-0/30/50 amp service. Dog run, wireless internet, laundry, pool, bath house with oversize showers, covered stage, art gallery/ gift shop, propane, playground, fishing pond, scheduled events.

T-mobile phone and hotspot work well

    ATT hotspot ok

    Family Friendly

We really enjoyed our stay while at Jellystone in Tabor City. The amenities were great and would have been even better if we visited during a warmer part of the year. Campsites were well maintained and clean. Common areas and bathrooms were also very well maintained. The resort had an abundance of activities for kids. We stayed at site 178 which a quad site. Very happy with the sight and it is off to the side so not a lot of traffic. It was a bit windy because it is out in the open though. The only reason why this is not a 5 star review is because during our check in the front office staff was not very helpful/friendly. Our stay improved so maybe it was an off day.

    Recreation Heaven

Lots of recreational activities with lake access. Staff was very friendly. Concrete pads are level and sites are spacious with a picnic table and fire pit. Close to Ft. Bragg entrance, Exchange, and Commissary. This campground is near a military runway so be prepared for loud aircraft noise as well as other military installation noise.

    Great Army MWR Campground

Clean and level site (6). Fire pit, picnic table and cement pad with full hookup. Many AD soldiers and their families fulltime. They have been great. Next to Simmons Army Air Field so, expect whirlybirds at all hours buzzing the CG. All the sounds of freedom are to be expected and enjoyed. It's winter so, the lake and amenities aren't available for use. But, they look great and you can fish inside the rec area, just not from the Campground.

    Smith Lake Visit

Campground is off the beaten path but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Availability required us to move during our stay but that wasn’t a big deal. We loved the sounds of freedom and enjoyed seeing our service members practicing flight maneuvers. Being retired aviation, we peacefully slept thru it all. We didn’t use facilities but staff was helpful and professional. Would recommend and stay again.

Close enough to the hustle and bustle

We spent 9 days and really didn't want to leave. There were a variety of things to do. The pool, the winery, a couple of trips to the beach and surrounding area. We were well received. We are new to camping and a family of color. We highly recommend.

    Loved This Place!

Great place for family entertainment. Kids of 10, 8, and 5 and all had a blast. We stayed during a storm and the camp staff adjusted their events to focus on indoor entertainment for the families. Wonderful.

Laser Tag. Splash pad. Water slides. Indoor and outdoor pool. Playgrounds. Dog parks. Putt-Putt. Ice Cream. Fishing. Basketball. Volleyball. Horse shoes…and our kids did it all.

Plenty of space between sites and very accommodating staff/assistance.

    Great store with camping essentials.

We will be back next year.

Great Family Fun for DoD Members

Great Stay for DOD associated members.

Playgrounds were phenomenal for kids. Bike and Hiking trails all through out the site. Fishing as well - with respective fishing license.

Staff was very receptive and the facilities were new right on the Smith Lake Beach. Beautiful. You can rent kayaks and paddle boats right on the water front, but the beach is only open on Weekends until Labor Day.

Sites were pretty tight to one another and not each site had a fire ring — community fire rings only.

Overall great experience - and highly recommended for military families.

    Fayetteville RV Resort & Cottages

Great Mix of Long & Short Term Campers at this Resort!

This resort is very community oriented with activities throughout the week and a free waffle breakfast every Saturday. There two beautiful green lawns, two pools, two shower houses, and two laundry facilities. Made for Trailers and RVs of all sizes with full hook-ups and utilities. Tent camping is not allowed. Management tries to accommodate all your needs; propane, firewood, quarters (for laundry), well equipped gym, and mail delivery are all available at the resort. Food trucks come in once or twice a week.

The resort is a 15m drive from Fort Bragg, 20m from Fayetteville, and the Fayetteville Airport, and 1h away from Raleigh and the Raleigh Airport.

    Phenomenal Location!

Great spot and one of the best kept secrets of Fayetteville, NC. Great location. Right off of 95. Family friendly and tremendous facilities. Putt Putt. Weight Room. Pool. Event Center. Basketball Courts. Play Ground and Nature Trail. Honestly amazing. The staff is wonderful and cannot be friendlier. We live local and go here for weekend getaways or to get the kids outside—and love our stays each time. Love it.

    Family Fun Camping!

This campground is perfect for families! Had a blast with all my young cousins participating in all the daily activities. Highlight of the trip was one of the bears Cindy riding around on a fire truck. Sites are very nice! Concert pads, full hook-ups. They even have family quad sites that seemed fun for reunions. My only complaint is that there is NO SHADE by the pool areas. Tried to bring a small easy up to set up but we had to take it down as it is a wind hazard. Just be advised that you have to have a personal umbrella if you’d like shade by the pool. Other than that, everything is very clean and nice! Creamery and mini golf are also a plus and fun! Kiddos also enjoyed the laser tag.
