Three primitive campsites circle Evergreen Pond in this state forest location managed by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. The site closest to the road accommodates car camping, while the other two require short hikes to reach. Pets are not permitted at this facility.
One reviewer noted minimal crowds even during peak summer weekends, encountering only three other visitors during a stay and having the overnight area to themselves. The small pond provides a focal point for the camping area. Free camping makes this an economical option for campers exploring camping near Ossian State Forest. The forested setting suits those comfortable with basic facilities and seeking a low-key overnight experience.
