Pharsalia Wildlife Management Area holds this primitive tent site close to Jackson Pond, managed by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and accessible via a short hike from a trailhead on the Finger Lakes Trail. No potable water, latrines, or garbage disposal are available, so campers must pack in and pack out everything. A permit is required and must be processed through the regional DEC office in Cortland at least one week in advance. Other campgrounds near Pharsalia Wma in the area include Pharsalia Y Pond, roughly a mile east. The site draws anglers, hikers, and paddlers who can also reach it by canoe or non-motorized boat from a nearby launch to the north.
