Situated in windsor NY on a 100+ acres ove looking a 22acre lake. Friendly owners & fellow campers. Seems every weekend had a different potluck or wine&cheese pairings, bingo or the monthly cornhole tournaments. There is a road all around the campgrounds which adds up to 1 mile which makes for good exercise.
This was one of my go to parks growing up and it still is an amazing little park. So much energy is put into making this a great family friendly place.
It is a very nice open area to camp in. It is a first come first serve campground. The dog park is a great addition to the park. There is always something going on. Also allows for an easy place right off Route I-86 to rest while driving across MY. Some of the best river access there is to paddle through a great small town.
Everyone says how great the water falls are. And yes they are. Bit this is truly a great place to camp. From the wilderness sites and nice bath houses to the gicking trails. This place has got it going on. Sure there is a diving board into a swimming hole filled by a waterfall which draws so many but the camping is great too
It is not pretty it is not glamorous but it was an experience that we were glad we had. Spent several weekend's here during 2 night concerts. This place takes on a real festival experience. Tents all over, drum circles, booze, and youth.
It seems like a nice local campsite even though it is a state park. Very nice location and relaxing.
Other than a nice place to launch the kayak in the upper river and into Dorchester lake. There is nothing here.
Stayed with our camper after a family birthday party. Very small camp ground but nice. There was no swimming in the pond allowed though. Beware, very tight sites amount the pines & very sloped
Such a nice place to stay. Being in the heart of the forrest is always enjoyable. The lake is great for swimming and kayaking. The nature trails are a great way to spend time taking in natural beauty.
The sites are rather tight and on top of each other but that just makes for closer neighbor's. With the connection of the stay and play with enchanted forrest water safari it makes for a great time. The ability to see bears through the camp ground and a great lake for kayaking there is something for everyone.
How could being at Disney be a bad thing? Even when tent camping it was amazing. Never a mosquito in sight. Geckos all around. GREAT for bike riding around the campsite.
GREAT scenery, picture opportunities and camping. The sites here are very nice and the roads paved for great bike riding. Friendly staff and a very large pool.
With the largest walk in heated pool in the north east it is easy to forget there is so much more to the resort. Moose Hillock ny Large private sites, beautiful rental cabins and large custom fire pits at every site it is a wonderful camping location.
Where to start? Amazing boondocking experience where the only light at night is the shuttle glow of the bathhouse the moon and the campfires. Falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean is one of the relaxing thing there is. Waking to see wild horses each morning is an experience I'll never forget.
I have camped CVSP several times in all sorts of capabilities, tent camping, pop-up and hard sided campers. Whether you are looking for a campsite in a forest setting or one with a large open field you can find it. There's is a perfect lake for kayaking for beginner or seasoned, as well as great hiking and mountain biking trails. Keep your eye peeled for the resident bald eagle and think about brining your clubs for a round of golf. The bathhouses are maybe the only negative to our whole experience but with the upgrade coming right now to the swimming area which oncludes better water circulation and a splashpad we will alwaus enjoy our trip here.
