Nice and cozy

It has 60 RV Spots with hookups, 2 tent areas and some cabins. A playground, pool (closed due to Covid), dog run area and volleyball. The campground is very nice and clean but not too much to do around. They do however have a little store and gift shop and a game room.

Great place to stop East of Albuquerque

This was a great place to stop East of Albuquerque, just 3 miles north of I-40. There aren’t many RV parks around and of the handful this is the one where you are going to get some space. There’s a playground for the kids and possibly some horses in the stables. It has full hookups and laundry and is very well maintained.

Solid Spot

Road isn’t terrible going up, saw many 2WD vehicles. Good amount of spots but many have no shade/not level. Decent amount of traffic too. For being way out there there’s a lot of day hikers. Overall a fun weekend spot though.

Expensive

Considered it for our upcoming trip, but $110/night?

Gorgeous but busy campground

We arrived early on a Tuesday and snagged a tree heavy site on the upper loop. The sites on the outside of the loops are decently wooded, smaller and not well suited to RVs. The sites on the inside of the loops have longer, RV sized pull in and little trees. Vault toilets are well maintained by the very active camp host, Mark. There is potable water from a well two miles down the mountain and trash, but packing out much that can’t be burned is encouraged. Pick up firewood in Pecos, there is enough dead & down tinder at the site. Dogs allowed on leash at all times, quite time begins at 10pm. The closer we got to the weekend, the more crowded and noisy the site became. One night, multiple campers arrived after dark and noisily set up camp. I’m sure the state parks being closed forced more people into the National Forest, but it’s a great site. There are several trailhead and just down the hill is easy access to creeks and fishing. We had great weather, upper 70’s during the day, dipping to low 50’s overnight. Each site has large fire rings with cooking grates and at least one picnic table, some with two. Sites are close together so try to grab one at the end of the loop for a little privacy.

Caring owner, clean location

We called ahead because we knew we were going to be pulling into the campground really late as our trip didn’t get started as soon as we wanted. Rick gladly accommodated us, giving us directions and site numbers we would use, then just pay in the morning. The campground is clean, quiet, and friendly! All sites are leveled pull thru’s and hookups are conveniently located. If we are going through the area, we will definitely be back!

Remote campground

Enjoyed the hiking trails. Definitely difficult in a car. We made it barely. A nice remote campground. Saw quite a few backpackers   Looking forward to camping there again this year now that we have a truck

Nice place, nice CLEAN bathrooms

Stayed here one night on the fly, plenty of spaces. A bit pricey at 40.00 per night for electric and water for an 8x12 trailer. Place is clean, and owner is very responsive.

Cool Tipi Glamping

Great location down a maintained dirt road. About 25 minutes from Santa Fe and practically in the National Forest. Property owner was extremely nice and showed us the ins and outs of the tipi and horse trailer which has been flipped into a bathroom and shower. Enjoyed ourselves enough to pay for an extra night.

Quiet Spot off the beaten path

Roomy, pull-through parking. The slides and awning were fully extended without getting close to the adjacent sites. Office was open later than most and you can stay in open spots even if you arrive after hours! Quiet area with some long-term residents that was a nice break from the road trip!
