None of the four campgrounds near Loudon, New Hampshire listed in the data explicitly offer horse corrals or designated equestrian facilities. Gunstock Campground, Ramblewood Cabins and Campground, Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park, and Tippicanoe Campground all specifically note "NO horse-corral" in their features list. Equestrians seeking overnight accommodations with their horses may need to explore alternative options beyond these immediate campgrounds. The nearest facilities with proper equestrian accommodations would require traveling outside the immediate Loudon area.

For riders planning trips to this region, Tippicanoe Campground and Gunstock Campground accept pets and might accommodate small animals, but neither provides specialized horse facilities such as corrals, wash stations, or designated trailer parking for equestrian use. Trails in the broader Lakes Region offer scenic riding opportunities, but proper planning for horse accommodations is essential. Many state parks in New Hampshire have specific regulations regarding horses, and primitive horse camping may require special permits not available at these standard campgrounds.

      Gunstock Campground

      Great Spot

Fairly extensive camp ground associated with Gunstock ski area on central New Hampshire. We arrived without a reservation a bit after the office closed, but Elena, the manager came out to let us in and allowed us to check in. She was great. Dogs must have proof of rabies vaccine. Very nice showers. Beautiful fall colors.

      Gunstock Mountain

I was lucky to receive a tranquil, secluded spot next to a brook - perfect. This campground has nothing to do, or plenty you can do - walking, hiking, biking, and close access to all Gunstock's adventures.

      Gunstock Campground

      Pretty Decent Little Camping Spot

Pros: Beautiful area, not a bad size campground, quiet nights (but this could be because 3 out of the 4 sites right near us were empty), free hot showers that are not dirty, lots of trails on edge of the grounds, lots and lots of tent sites, platform on campsite, pool and playground available, camp store, bike & Segway trails, quick access to some of NH’s most beautiful mountains. Staff is friendly. Cons: So many roots all over the sites, the platform did not fit our tent for 12 on it. More of the sites have very little separation from the neighboring campers near you. We explored the grounds & noted some sites that were a smidge more secluded and plan to return again sometime!

      Peaceful and great location

We enjoyed this campground! The staff upon arrival was so nice. It was so quiet at night! Got to walk to hike Gunstock. Wished there was a restaurant within walking distance. But not a show stopper. We will be back!

      Gunstock Campground

Cute campground, wooded sites are limited.

This campground overall is very nice. The camp store has most everything you could need, and the campground is gated so you have to make sure you keep your key card with you whenever leaving in order to get back in. Most of the sites are out in the open though, or very close together. Not so bad if you're camping in trailers or RVs, but if tent camping you won't really have any privacy in those locations. I recommend the sites back in Breezy Knolls (K01-K17 I think?) and then I believe sites 203 and 205 were nice and tucked away in the trees as well. There is a zip line course and a metal "slide" or coaster behind the Breezy Knolls area which can get kind of noisy between the sounds of the gear and the kids screaming. Lol. But it didn't really bother me personally. The wooded area back there is beautiful though so the sites definitely made up for it. Campground has a fenced in dog park, playground, showers, clean bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Would definitely camp here again. I just prefer the wooded/shaded tent sites...which are limited at this place.

      Gunstock Campground

      4.7 stars

Fun place! The mountain coaster and chairlift were great for the little ones and the ziplines are epic! They give discounts to campers. We stayed in 255, which was really nice, wooded, and right by the creek. Site 254 next door us easily the best trailer site in the entire place. It is huge and has two levels and tons of creek frontage. These two sites are nestled in a quiet tent area. The grid RV area was not very impressive, but all of the tent sites in the woods were really cool. The open field rv area was really exposed but close to amenities. Our family stayed in the cabins and they are nicely situated for privacy. Rustic and no AC or bathrooms but clean and nice little porch. The pool was nice, two excellent playgrounds, and everything well kept. You get your own keycard for the gate. Epic views from top of mountain!

This is an awesome campground! Lots to do with a nice pool and lots of land to walk the dogs. Seasonal camping is better here.

    Guide to Loudon

The Lakes Region offers camping alternatives within driving distance where travelers can find accommodations that suit various needs. Winter temperatures typically range from 15-35°F, while summer months average 65-85°F, creating distinct seasonal camping experiences throughout the region.

    What to do

Hiking trails access: Gunstock Campground provides convenient access to nearby hiking opportunities. "I was lucky to receive a tranquil, secluded spot next to a brook - perfect. This campground has nothing to do, or plenty you can do - walking, hiking, biking, and close access to all Gunstock's adventures," notes reviewer Carolyn S.

Golfing opportunities: Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park combines camping with recreation on their property. As Shawn C. explains, "Nice RV campground with alot of seasonal residents. Plenty of tent sites. On site general store with grill. Fishing and swimming on property along with a club house."

Water recreation: Fishing opportunities exist at several campgrounds for those seeking alternatives to horseback riding. David G. from Tippicanoe Campground shares, "Rand Pond is the body of water at the campground and is restricted to under 10 HP boats. It is stocked with rainbow trout by the State of NH and is a spring fed sandy bottom pond."

    What campers like

Spacious sites: Ramblewood Cabins and Campground offers comfortable accommodations with room to spread out. According to Anne G., "We have stayed here a few times and really enjoyed sites and hospitality!"

Adventure activities: While horse facilities are absent, Gunstock Campground offers alternative outdoor activities. Sara D. reports, "Beautiful area, not a bad size campground, quiet nights, free hot showers that are not dirty, lots of trails on edge of the grounds, lots and lots of tent sites, platform on campsite, pool and playground available, camp store, bike & Segway trails."

Peaceful atmosphere: Many campers appreciate the quiet environment at area campgrounds. Ryan F. notes, "Very well kept and quiet grounds. The lot I was in was not wooded but still quiet. Check in was quick and friendly. All other guests were friendly as well. I'll be back for sure."

    What you should know

Site characteristics: While horse accommodations aren't available, some campgrounds offer unique site features. Melissa B. advises about Gunstock Campground, "Most of the sites are out in the open though, or very close together. Not so bad if you're camping in trailers or RVs, but if tent camping you won't really have any privacy in those locations. I recommend the sites back in Breezy Knolls (K01-K17 I think?)."

Seasonal considerations: Many properties in the region operate seasonally. At Tippicanoe Campground, a reviewer explains, "Many seasonal campers have been here for years and keep coming back for the friends and activities."

Site placement challenges: Some campgrounds present logistical issues with hookup placement. Carry M. shares about Hidden Valley RV Park, "The water and electric were between our site and the next on one side and sewer between our site and the one on the other side. This made it difficult to place our trailer on the slanted site and reach all services."

    Tips for camping with families

Adventure activities: Families seeking alternatives to horseback riding can find other recreational options. Kasey H. notes about Gunstock Campground, "It has pretty spacious sites, they have an aerial obstacle course and a mountain coaster, places to swim, music festivals, hiking, etc."

Clean facilities: Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park maintains family-friendly amenities. Christy C. shares, "The amenities are state of the art, clean laundry center, restrooms, bath house, grocery store, bar & grill, playground & 2 swimming beaches."

Safety considerations: When looking for family camping alternatives to equestrian facilities, safety matters. One reviewer mentions, "This campground is run by a very pleasant couple who take great pride in this property. Everything is immaculate from the bathrooms, shower, clubhouse, store and grounds so you can relax and know that the kids are safe."

    Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Since equestrian camping options are limited, RVers should focus on other amenities. At Tippicanoe Campground, "The sites all have water, 50amp and sewer hookups. Very few tenting, mostly RVs on the well laid out grounds where you are not far from the beautiful beach."

Size considerations: Some properties have limitations for larger rigs. Brad F. comments about Gunstock Campground, "Has restrooms and showers and lots of fun activities to do," but other reviewers note some sites are better suited for smaller units.

Location advantages: While horse facilities are lacking, RVers can find locations with convenient access to regional attractions. Christine M. notes, "We enjoyed this campground! The staff upon arrival was so nice. It was so quiet at night! Got to walk to hike Gunstock. Wished there was a restaurant within walking distance."
