Saulsbury Wash Rest Area Hwy 6

Highway 6 travelers find this rest area positioned along a quiet stretch of road with minimal traffic passing through. The facility provides vault toilets that reviewers note stay clean and odor-free, along with 10-15 pull-through spaces where RVs can park beside picnic tables and grills. No water or flush facilities are available, though trash receptacles are maintained on-site.

The location sits east of Tonopah, allowing campers to explore the historic mining town and its attractions like the World Famous Clown Motel. Beyond the fence line, visitors can walk to examine an old windmill and water pump remnants on the hillside, plus spot a large barge that somehow ended up in this desert location. Cell service reaches the area, making it workable for overnight stops when traveling Nevada's central routes.

Great Overnight Rest

This place had virtually no traffic. So the noise is a 1 from a zero to ten scale.

The bathrooms are very clean and kept up. The don’t stink so that’s a plus.

There are about 10-15 spaces you can back into and park next to a picnic table and a grill.

There’s no water here or flush toilets. There is Trash receptacles.

The Town of Tonopah is close by, to the west on highway 6 if you’re coming from the east. There are lots of things to do in that little town. It has a lot of history. Worth the stop and you can also visit the World Famous Clown Motel!

There is a couple openings that you can use at the fence line to walk around. There’s a really old windmill and some sort of old water pump in the hill.

There’s a huge barge out there, kind of curious how it got all the way out there.

Definitely a very quiet secluded rest area. I would stop and stay a night if i’m in the area again.
