The Best Camping Near Willow Beach, Arizona

Very quiet CG away from the LV side of Lake Mead. nice sites, with water, trash and toilets, but no trailer hookups.  Showers and laundry over at the marina area (closed as of Feb 2021). Marina has a small store with the normal necessities. NPS CG is $20/$10 senior. 30d limit.  Cell service was 5 bars wow!!  Marina trailer park may have some full hookup RV sites.  Update: Feb 2021....seems all sites may be going to reservation only but seems to be a bit confusing right now.  Anyhoo, still one of my fav Lake Mead Cgs....also there is free WIFI also....cell on att and verizon is 5bars lte. One issue though is if you get a FF site, as of Feb 2012, it is CASH ONLY..so come prepared with $20s/$10s....camp host on site is great.

My favorite lake mead CG

This state campground only has 50 of it’s 150 sites open. The other 3 loops have been basically abandoned for years the host stated. I think that is sad.... No electric and I wouldn’t trust the water. It’s probably a 2 mile drive to the Marina and only for boats, not swimming. There is a tiny little store and lounge on the premises, but that’s about it. Pretty empty when I stayed in site 9 in March for 2 nights. Lots of area to ride bikes on pavement. There were bathrooms, but no showers. 

Nevada could do better.

Cons:

Zero Privacy on campsite.

May have to reserve online to secure a spot.

Very small and all spots are open and close together.

  

The Marina Market (A short walk away) is pricey and has about 11 edible items that might be considered grocery.

  

I paid $2.50 for some frozen and freezer burned  WM Hamburger buns that normally cost 88 cents.

I paid $2.50 for a gallon of water.

All in all, if I were to return it would be to use day camping area which was quiet and pleasant with a view of the Lake.

  

I passed on stayjng at this Campsite.

Lake Mead is beautiful and there are literally another 100 beautiful places to camp here.

  

I would highly recommend Boulder Beach or dispersed camping at one of the many BLM sites with astonishing views and space to enjoy YOUR own campsite without being on your neighbours front porch.

Zero Privacy

It is hard to leave an objective review on this site but I will try. This was a last minute trip in mid-February so it was very quiet. That is how we like it. The site itself is desert dry so it lacks that wilderness feel but the bathrooms were clean and we went with friends so everyone had a good time. There was a short hike across the street where at the top you could see the lake. The surrounding area was a playground for the dog and the kids. Good cell phone reception. I am looking forward to exploring other campsites in the area. 

Probably Better For RVs Than Tents

Just stopped in here on a chance during Easter weekend. Boulder beach was booked or so the host said, however in stopping at callville on our way to dispersed camping, found several available sites. Spaces were clean, bathrooms were more than adequate. All in all I found it to be a great jump off spot to drive various back country trails. Will stay here again.

Showers and laundry over at the marina area (UPDATE: showers an laundry closed still as of Feb 2022). Marina has a small store with the normal limited necessities. Gas is available in lot C.  NPS CG is $20/$10 senior. 30d camping limit.   Pvt RV trailer park next door may have some full hookup RV sites.  Update: Feb 2022....seems camp sites 1-2 are FF only, rest are reservation, total of 52 sites.  Anyhoo, still one of my favorite Lake Mead Campgrounds...also there is free WIFI also but only for 1/2 hr, then need to pay......however, cell signal on att, tmobile and verizon are all 5-bars LTE so who needs WIFI! One issue though is if you get a first come site it is still CASH ONLY..so come prepared with $20s/$10s....longtime camp host Jason is great.

Great site!
Bathrooms had sink! It was nice to brush my teeth here in the morning. 
Very quiet at night! I loved going to bed to the sound of hooting owls and waking to chirping birds. 
Ranger came by in the morning to make sure we paid since we came in so late. 
Highly recommend!

Clean& quiet

This is a pleasant well-maintained campground with a helpful friendly ranger. I did not give it five stars only because The sites are  cramped a little bit too close together and the vegetation needs to grow up around the campsites a little bit more. It was not full on a weekend when all nearby campgrounds were packed. Most of the sites have a nice view of Lake Mead
