Description
Open Mojave desert BLM land just east of Valley of Fire State Park, this wide dispersed area sits at roughly 2,300 feet in classic southern Nevada high-desert terrain — exposed, quiet after dark, and impressively starry. A dirt road off Route 167 leads in and is manageable for most 2WD vehicles, though the surface is washboarded and softens in spots; venturing significantly further from the pin requires high clearance or 4WD. The area is large enough that even when other campers are present, sites feel private and well spread out — wind can be a factor, and scattered broken glass from occasional shooting activity is worth watching for.
