Managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, this year-round campground sits beside a 50-acre spring-fed lake in the small town of Verdon. The facility accommodates RVs up to 75 feet and provides drinking water, restrooms, picnic tables, and allows campfires and pets. Campers can access sites by vehicle or boat.
According to one visitor, the campground remains largely uncrowded and well-maintained, with active wildlife including fish and cranes visible around the water. The lake supports fishing, kayaking, and small trolling boats that campers bring themselves. For additional camping options in southeastern Nebraska, consider Indian Cave State Park Campground about 10 miles east.

Verdon offers 20 Basic campsites in its shady campground. Primitive restrooms are available.
Camping at Verdon State Recreation Area is all first-come, first-served, and campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an Iron Ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided the Iron Ranger station, which is located near the park entrance (check or cash only). On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process.
