    Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area

    pleasant surprise

Dare I say this park was scenic?! Nebraska is not the most exciting state to pass through on a road trip to CO, but this campsite exceeded our low expectations. The sites were nicely secluded and the campground was quiet. We didn’t plan on doing much exploring in the area, but ended up spending the better part of our day here.

    Favorite Place in Nebraska

As avid outdoor lovers, fishermen and bow hunters this is our favorite place to be! The scenery is beautiful year round, wildlife is abundant and the park is so well kept and clean. The camp hosts, rangers, biologists are wonderful, friendly people! We love that the majority of the electrical sites are walk-up. Note: summertime is definitely busy time so plan ahead of you are staying through the weekend. Week day stays are much calmer and if you go before/after peak busy season, you will only have to share the entire park with a small handful of campers

    Buffalo Bill Campground

Nice small campground next Buffalo Bill Ranch Historic Site. 50/30 amp available. Water is confusing. Water at site 6 and 20. Also water available at tent site at end of campground. Water spigot is located at the back of both sites and tent site so confused how everyone else can get water. Just plan ahead. Only one other camper was here so we parked in site 6. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Verizon was 5G.

Ticks, no drinking water, & not much to do

Grounds were nice, spaces are kinda close but the park was mostly empty so no privacy issues. I didn’t use the bathroom facilities. AT&T service good. T mobile is fair, not enough to work from. My biggest complaint is that I found 2 ticks on myself here.. 35 years on this planet & never got a tick until now. None on the dog, but he’s on preventative medicine. I will not return for that reason alone.

    Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area

Great campground. Level sites. Clean toilets. Water was off for the season when we were here. Close to the river. Great access to North Platte.

Came to see the Sand Hill Crane migration. A great experience

    Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area

    Good for overnight stay

A bit pricey for what it offers. Not much to do except tour the Buffalo Bill house:grounds. $25 for electric plus $8 for out of state campers. Ask the camp host for change and he was not in the least helpful. Had to go to him, otherwise we would’ve not seen him. The park ranger was very friendly, gave us good information about the area and easiest way to get back on interstate.

    Magical sites, beautiful scenery

Out of the way and secluded campground that’s easy to get to. Loved the scenic and natural elements. Riverside spot and fished all day. Bathrooms were outhouse style and there is no water at sites and no showers. Loved our stay.

Nice spot and water access. Great showers and fire pits. Small and private.
