A free primitive camping spot popular for its privacy and easy highway access, though campers should expect no facilities and some road noise. Best suited for smaller RVs and those comfortable with rustic conditions.

Road by the water

Nice for boat launching and simple camping, but there aren’t sites beyond thin paths between the two main roads.

Great place to rest on your journey

We searched the area with the awesomd Dyrt app. Found this location. Directions were spot on. Beautiful primitive camping location. All the spots overlook the lake. A bit of traffic noise from the freeway.

Car Camping By The Water w/ Cows!

Showed up an hour before sunset with nobody else around. Just off the highway, not really for pitching a tent but sleeping in my truck was perfect. Little bit of bugs but that’s to be expected near water. Woke up to hear cows moo’ing right behind me on the other side of the fence! Overall great experience 👍

Great Primitive Campsite

I had a great time in this campsite. It was very private. We were the only ones there. The campsite didn't have any large animals, only cows that were behind the fence. In the evening, there was quite a few mosquitoes. There is some noise coming off of the highway too. Great place to stop if you are tired and want to sleep.

Nice little spot

Stayed here in 5-2019, and again in 4-22. Cows for neighbors, quiet, a little noise from the freeway, but not bad. Had the place to ourselves. Clean. 3 nights free.

Quiet spot close to I-80

We stumbled upon this place by chance and decided to stay overnight. It’s right off the highway, but there’s a large fishing pond between the camping spots and the highway with lots of mature trees, so that helps to dampen the road noise. This is a hunting/fishing area that happens to allow dry camping (3 day limit). The pull offs for camping are bumpy and there are a number of large potholes. We found a decently level spot that fit our 22ft TT and Jeep tow vehicle. I don’t think the spots could accommodate anything much larger than that. These are rustic spots with no facilities, but it was a great find for us and much better than parking at a big box parking lot. And I had excellent cell coverage on Verizon (2 bars of LTE).
