    Mountain View RV Park

    Good basecamp for adventuring

I can't add much to Julie M.'s review. Very thorough and accurate. AT&T service was just ok. We did visit Hungry Horse Dam. Beautiful and the story behind the name is interesting. Montana Distillery is close by in Coram and a good brewery/restaurant in Columbia Falls. Lots of things for kids and teens close by. Amazing Fun Center, Glacier Highline, Putt Putt in West Glacier and many others. Really nice place for a basecamp.

    Holland Lake Campground

Great camping, swimming, paddling, hiking, views

We love this campground! The views are gorgeous, the sites big, the pit toilets clean, and the people friendly. At the lodge(and the campground now, too, I believe) you can rent kayaks and/or paddle boards. The hike to the waterfall is beautiful, and swimming and snorkeling in this lake are wonderful due to the clarity and purity. One can also take a fun hike all around the lake in four or five hours(but be sure to bring bug spray) and walk over to see the horses in the adjacent horse campground. Why it didn’t earn five stars: the road to the campgrounds are gravel and heavily trafficked, which means that it can get pretty dusty, creating a blanket of dust over the lake if a busy weekend. Also, because the vast majority of users are kayakers and paddle boarders, the lake’s shape and smaller size mean that it can be a challenge for motorized users to keep distance from them. Overall, a lovely, natural lake.

    Mountain View RV Park

    Great spot to stay!

Great place to stay. Big grassy area in the middle of the RV park with picnic tables, great for walking dogs or just relaxing in the grass. There is also a small basketball court. Minimal bugs- just a few knats that would seek out the lights at night. Site was level and just enough space for trailer and truck(a bit crowded but worked), full sun, no shade and a picnic table. Splitter on the water spiket provided. Light road noise from hwy nearby, but not bad. Customer service was nice and accommodating.$2 wash/$2 dryer so a little high, but the laundry services were clean. Gravel back-in site, asphalt roads, great for strolling around in the evening.

We stayed for 7 days so paid for 6 and the 7th was free. They also accept Good Sam members.

The wifi was a tad slow, but for the most part worked pretty good. Hotspot on cell for video calls and Netflix though.

Close to the grocery(Super 1 Foods) and 2 miles from the rodeo grounds and Blue Moon Nite Club where they have a weekly Thursday Rodeo in the summer. It was fun! Very accessible to Whitefish, Kalispell, downtown Columbia Falls, Hungry Horse, and Glacier National Park.*The cajun restaurant in Whitefish Tupelo Grille was awesome!!

Horses Welcome | Hot Shower | Close to Everything

Peaceful, Well-tended, Best Shower in Montana

I drove into Whispering Pines weary from travel, seeking a well-earned rest and recharge. I am very pleased to say I received that and more.

Tucked away where the Kalispell Valley meets the pines, you'll find this campground. Its peaceful here, but the amenities of the city are close by. The views are great. The sunrise on my last morning lit up the entire mountain range to the East. The sun sets in a spot that allows you to see out for miles, as the sky continues to glow well after the sun has disappeared from frame. On a clear day, you can even see Heaven's Peak in Glacier National Park from your campsite.

And the night sky is marvelous. The shower was very well thought out: great water pressure, endless heat, and an open roof to stare up at the stars. I will not forget that shower experience for a long time, soaking under the Big Sky.

The last thing I'll say is that the campground host, Charles, is very welcoming and attentive to your needs. The kind of host that makes sure you have clean facilities every step of the way, but leaves your space to enjoy your time the way you want to. We kicked it off right away. It's very clear that he is a nice guy who simply enjoys sharing his love of the state with you.

TLDR; Try this place out, you'll be glad you did.

    Holland Lake Campground

    Gorgeous Camping

This is one of my favorite spots in Montana. The lake itself is gorgeous, and the camping spots are beautiful. There's even one site on the island, if you brought a canoe or kayak, as we did! There's a short hike up to the waterfall and a longer hike to upper waterfalls. The water on the lake is crystal clear, and while motor boats are allowed, people appreciate the quiet a bit more. There are views in all directions, the camping is quiet, the sunsets are beautiful. There are mosquitoes, but they're not terrible, so bring some bug spray and you should be fine. As always, please practice LNT!

    Out Post Campground

    Great pit stop to Yellowstone

We tried to get a AirBnb in this area but it was crazy expensive.

We made an overnight reservation for this spot and it was great to get our precaming game going.

They were kinda expensive but it totally beat paying the local costs for lodging. And it’s a huge bonus to be outside and enjoying greasy air.

The grounds were very close to the highway and easy to access.

Dispersed Site - Lolo National Forest Recreation Area

    Easy, peaceful and beautiful

So gorgeous! Tent camped along the river! Very spaced out campsites, nice for lots of privacy and quiet! Signs to be aware of bear country but took precautions. Rock fire pits at each site. Super easy for quick stop road tripping (0.5 miles off main road)! Stayed in early September on a road trip to Glacier, was able to find our site decently well in the dark! Verizon cell service 3-4 bars! Loved it!

The west is the only safe way to enter onto the road to the campsites. On the map, it looks like you can enter/exit either way from 135… but the east side of the road to get back onto 135 is impossible… so we just had to turn around and exit the same way we came in (from the west).

Dispersed Site - Lolo National Forest Recreation Area

    Amazing By the River

Arrived very late in the dark on Friday night coming back from Canada, and found an amazing site next to the river which drowned out all surrounding noise. Beautiful and forested with privacy and plenty of space to setup 5 tents. Didn’t have any issues with bugs or mosquitos despite being by the river in August.
