Bear Creek River Access Boating Site

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Rafters and paddlers use Bear Creek River Access Boating Site as a launch point on the river, but the site also accommodates overnight stays with drive-in, walk-in, and boat-in access. The layout is a wide gravel lot with spots close to the water. Campers should expect road noise and regular train activity from nearby rail lines. One treed spot offers more privacy but requires a short wheelbase to navigate the steep entry road. No cell service is available, though Starlink has worked here. Overnight crowds tend to be light. Trash service is provided, and pets are welcome, making it a reasonable base for those exploring dog-friendly camping near Flathead National Forest or staging a multi-day float.

Great spot

Stayed 4 days/3 nights

Great place! Wide open gravel lot and spots close to the river. There is road noise of course and a good amount of train activity, but it wasn’t obnoxious. There is a spot that’s more private in the trees but the road to get to that spot had too much of a quick incline/decline for me to feel ok in my rig. If you have a shorter wheel base you can easily get up there.

Easy Peasy

Late August I was the only one there overnight. Starlink works great but no cell service. Lots of people pull off to look but few stay. Big River Trail head is supposed to be here (40+) miles but didn't have time to explore

Nice kick back spot

Great spot for launching rafts. Also very good choice for relaxing and getting away for a few hours to a day. Worked summer work near here and me and a group of friends would always come kick back here 🤘🏻
