    Big Therriault Lake Campground

    Worth the trip

This is one of our favorite spots to camp with our pups. The sites are nice and close to the lake and there's plenty of trees offering shade and privacy. The fire pits are great having a primitive grill. Bear proof cans are provided at each site and there is a hand pump water spigot for potable water. It's always been clean and well kept when we've visited.

Logging Creek Campground — Glacier National Park

Clean, nice creek that runs through

We tent camped. There are many campsites available, just have to drive on a long gravel road to get there. No running water except a pump from the creek. 2 vault toilets. Deer were roaming the campsites all evening, very cool.

    Whitefish Lake State Park Campground

Located on the south side of Whitefish Lake.

Whitefish Lake State Park is located right on the south end of Whitefish Lake. Beautiful sunsets across the lake and wonderful views of the Northern Lights during the summer months. If your lucky and can reserve a spot on the Fourth of July you will see the city's fireworks display on the lake.

Campground has about 25 camping locations, restroom and showers, public boat launch and on site campground host. Perfect location for kayaking and paddle boarding.

As others have stated you are right next to train tracks and they do run often.

    Sylvia Lake Campground

    Haunting Beauty

Sylvia Lake is tucked back into the Flathead Forest. Wild fires have burned through this area leaving a path of dead tree stand as a reminder of mother nature’s fury. It’s oddly beautiful as the new growth is finding its resilient way back.

The road to the lake is long, winding, often rutted and dusty, BUT the lake beckons to be explored. There is designated camping as well as a few dispersed spots that have been created over time. You will find no amenities and you are quite a distance from any sort of cell service or stores, so come prepared.

The sketchy rope swing was left untried but the crawdads were plentiful! If you want to disconnect and want something other than the typical Montana camp, Sylvia is just right.

    Caribou Campground

    Primitive!

This campground is as primitive as you can yet, yet beautiful. Although situated right off the road, this spot tucks in next to the creek and provides great access to northern Yaak area and lots of wildlife and hiking. The location does not include water (other than the creek) but does have pit toilets.

    Whitefish Bike Retreat

    The Place to Be Seen

Nearby Whitefish, MT has a growing reputation for fantastic trails, hikes and mountain bike areas, and this full-service oasis takes advantage of all of it.  The $50 per night fee (for the tent sites) comes with a sauna, bike repair and washing station, gift shop, hot showers, laundry, wi-fi, a bike skills area, trails for all levels…all intertwined with the Beaver Lake series of trails and small lakes.  Very kid and pet friendly, a community-building locale.  There's a large lodge for people wanting a roof over their heads.  As another example, if you bike in, they would usually try to make space for you (even if everything was full) and charge $15.  Plus, there are bike trails/easy routes to every other major biking area around Whitefish - Spencer Mountain, Lyon Mountain, Reservoir Lake and Big Mountain Nordic.  I could be nit-picky and say that the camping sites are a little on the small side and crammed together, but there's personality to each one and to the area in general.  Word of caution - reserve in advance!  😯  There was only one campground left on a Sunday evening in June.  The friendly attendant said they can make some exceptions for large groups.

Logging Creek Campground — Glacier National Park

    Beautiful!

This is the back country site about 5 miles in on the logging lake trial. The site is beautiful and is right on the lake. The views are incredible. There is plenty of flat space to pitch tents.

There is a fire ring with logs around it. There is also a pipe to bag your bear bag from. A privy for the campsite is located up a small hill, which does not provide TP. It's a little terrifying to go to alone at night.
