Quiet but dusty
Only 5 sites here, three in one direction and two in the other from the entrance, with a pit toilet in the middle. It looks like all 5 sites have a trail to the lake (I was able to check out 3 of the sites), with site 2 and site 5 having the best lake access. Site 5 looks like it has the flattest area for a tent, but I had no problems in site 2. My site’s lake access made for a great place to watch the sun rise. Nice but small gravel parking pads (wouldn’t suggest bringing a trailer down here), with two of them being doubles. All sites had the usual picnic table and fire pit. Warning, it will be dusty here as the main gravel forest road is just up the hill.

Free campground in the National Forest
Sites have a fire pit. It’s free. close to the lake. The bathroom was pretty clean. Good for being a car access spot.

The best place to camp
While somewhat hard to get to (roughly 20 miles on a winding gravel/dirt road following Hungry Horse Reservoir) this was one of my favorite spots to camp during the entirety of my cross country road trip. We had a large flat site to park the car with a short trail down to the water with stunning views. Roughly an hour and a half drive from Glacier National Park (most of which is due to the unpaved Forest Road to get here).
