Description
Buffalo Calf Campground is located near the Blackfeet Buffalo Reserve -- 1 mile east of East Glacier Park Village. The campground is 10 miles from the Two Medicine entrance to Glacier National Park. Buffalo Calf is a small campground ideal for visitors who like to camp far away from crowds. Though it is small, the campground more than makes up for it in wide open spaces, natural beauty, and the opportunity to view the Blackfeet Buffalo Herd.
During the month of July there will be an increased volume of visitors to Glacier National Park please plan accordingly.
Be aware that on June 16th the Glacier Half Marathon will be hosted at Buffalo Calf Campground. Travel may be difficult in the southwestern part of the Blackfeet Reservation.
- All vehicles must fill out a use permit registration envelop, including members of the Blackfeet tribe and the general public.
- Quiet hours are from 11 PM- 6 AM. Campground gate is closed during quiet hours. Walk-in access only
- Pets must be on a leash and may not run unattended. Pet feces must be picked up by owners. Pets will not be left alone on grounds while owner goes boating, swimming, to town, etc.
- Do not leave campfires unattended.
- Absolutely no weapons allowed.
- Do NOT cut any live vegetation or trees. Firewood for campfires is available in the Camp Store.
- Alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited in ALL areas of the Buffalo Calf Campground.
- All vehicles, trailers, etc. are subject to search.
- Checkout time for campers is 12PM unless registered for the night.
- Leaving a camp unattended for a period of 24 HRS or longer is a regulations violation.
- ATV'S are allowable, but must follow a speed limit of 10 MPH.
- The use of fireworks is prohibited except at the Day Use Area on the fourth of July.
- When in the Buffalo Calf Campground and Day Use Area, all users will abide by the established rules, regulations, and policies established for those areas
- The Buffalo Calf staff and law enforcement officials are authorized to immediately remove a person or persons that violate rules, threaten, endanger human health and safety, cause property damage or are a nuisance to others, and/or under the influence.
- Violation of regulations may result in the immediate removal from Buffalo Calf Campground and the loss of privileges to enter and use Buffalo Calf Campground, and Day Use area in the future.
- TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY have the right to go berry picking
- Tribal Fishing permits are available at the camp store
- Any questions regarding fishing and/or hunting license, contact the Campground Manager
- If in doubt or questions arise, ask the Buffalo Calf Manager
