Last minute surprise turned out great

Started on our way home from glacier national park at midnight. We couldn’t find anything that was open (including hotels). Randomly stumbled upon this campsite at 2:00 am.

Luckily the sign read: IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 9:00 PM PLEASE SET UP CAMP AND WE WILL ACCEPT PAYMENT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. THANK YOU.

Flat, grassy campground with some nice little trees for some shade. 6 tent spots (I’m sure they would accept more, plenty of room). Other spots for RVs. Nice clean bathrooms. Shower was good too, except the lack of curtains. Bring your own soap. They have a massive dumpster to leave all your trash in.

Great basic spot outside of Glacier

Not the most scenic spot, but for a safe spot to sleep for the night it was perfect. $10 for tent camping, +$5 for the showers. Showers/bathrooms were very clean and the campground staff was very polite. No laundry for some reason, but they did have ice for $2 a bag. We camped here for two nights because it was so close and cheap, couldn’t really ask for much more. Would reccomend calling ahead for a spot, as they were pretty full the second night especially.

Convenient but pretty rough

We came into Billings late so it was good to have a site booked. The campground is down a dirt road in a strange industrial/mixed use area. It is almost like the campground is in an abandoned fair ground. The showers were fine, but the laundry was broken.

cheap, small, decent showers

Not my ideal camping setup - near town, rather noisy from nearby homes and street, and the sites are close together - but it worked well enough for a single overnight car camping stop while on a long road trip. It isn't busy, it's cheap, and the showers are decent so It's one of the better options available if you don't want to be surrounded by tourists heading to Glacier NP in nearby locations. It's close enough to East Glacier (photos) that I could spend most of the day in the park before finding a place to camp away from the busy areas and en route to my destinations to the east. Since I had to take off early the next morning on the next leg of my trip, it was convenient that I could stop in town for coffee and gas before hitting the road.
