Pike Creek Road leads to scattered dispersed camping spots along a forest service route that branches off near Marias Pass. The access road contains deep potholes and rough sections that require careful navigation, though most vehicles can manage the route with attention to ground clearance. GPS coordinates prove unreliable, with the actual turnoff located across from Summit Mtn Lodge rather than where mapping services indicate.
Most camping spots appear as small pulloffs directly beside the road, though a few larger pull-through sites exist further up the route. Established fire rings mark previous use at several locations. Road traffic occurs more frequently than expected for a dispersed area, and highway noise from nearby routes remains audible at most sites. The 20-foot RV length limit reflects both road conditions and site constraints. Summit Campground provides a developed alternative just half a mile away for those preferring established amenities.
