This Bureau of Land Management campground operates year-round in north-central Montana, accessible via county roads southeast of the Canadian border. BLM Lonesome Lake provides dispersed camping opportunities on public land without developed facilities or potable water, requiring campers to arrive self-sufficient with their own supplies.
The remote location means limited cell coverage and no on-site services. Campers seeking additional developed options can explore campgrounds near Big Sandy or visit Coal Banks Landing along the Missouri River corridor. Winter access depends on road conditions and snow levels in the area.
