Loved it, very relaxing!
This is another great Corps of Engineers parks where you find really nice campsites set on great waterfront setting. The campground sits on Enid Lake which is recognized as one of “One of America’s Top 10 Fishing Spots.” And since the park is just shy of 100 sites you don’t feel like it is not too big. Plan on staying here for a couple of days and relaxing in the outdoors. Stock up on supplies because there is not much around. Sites are really nice and spacious with paved driveways and patios.

They just added sewer with makes a full hookup at $20/night a total bargain. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table, bbq grill, small concrete stand next to bbq, and lantern crook. The bathhouse was modern with flush toilets with clean showers. Not all sites are level in fact we had to pass up a couple because of that reason. If you come in the off-season, there are plenty of sites not reserved so you can drive around and pick on using the self-pay system. Some sites have amazing water views if you are able to snag one of those you are in for a great stay. The campground is pretty hilly but the roads were easy enough for us to navigate in our 45’ RV and tow car .

The lake is very popular for fishing and there is a boat launch/fish cleaning station. We didn’t have fishing licenses but loved paddling around the lake. The North Mississippi Fish Hatchery(by the Enid Dam) is a fun place to visit and tour for very small fee. If you go into the town of Pope, the restaurant "The Place" offers good food set in a refurbishing an historic building.

It’s really hard for me to give 1 star for anything, but this place is a dump. This is the 3rd MS State Park (North MS) we have been to and it is clear that MS does not take care of its state parks. Only half of the park is open, the grass was overgrown, trash/garbage is littered every where (especially near the open dumpsters that are randomly placed throughout camp), the ranger only came around to collect fees and then disappeared. The bathroom does not have AC or a fan, so it was a total sweat box. The toilet paper was not replenished, there is no hand soap, there was broken glass on the ground in one of the stalls. The shower portion wasn’t that bad, but again, no AC. The water hook ups are at least 100 foot away from most camp sites, so bring lots of extra hose if you do end up staying here. The site #’s are not clearly marked and they do not post if a site is reserved. No designated fire pits, so people have been just burning where ever they want. The fee is $22 a night, but they will charge you another $16 if you put up a tent. Overall, I paid $39 to stay in the worst campground we have ever gone to. Get it together Mississippi!

Nice older campground
This is a nice older campground with full hookups including sewer, which makes it nice. Not far from I-55 if you needed some place to stop for the night. Restrooms/Shower house was clean and nice. Washer and dryers available, but somewhat unkept. Putt putt golf course and disc golf on premises. Noticed some grills were broken and fire pits were not on all sites. Definitely, stay only in Yocona Ridge as the other section is in complete disrepair. MS really needs to fund their state parks better so they can get the maintenance needed. They will begin charging $10 a day extra for golf carts beginning May 1, 2021. Lakeside sites would allow for boat pull-up within view.

Relaxing Atmosphere!
Very laid back atmosphere here. We really enjoyed relaxing in our lounge chairs, listening to the birds and watching the water. Enid Lake has an earthen dam and was built for flood control. We enjoyed the nearby North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and Visitors Center. The town of Batesville, MS is about 10 miles north on I-55 and has many stores for supplies. If you have reservations, be sure you know your site number since no one works at the gate. Even though it’s a bit hilly, all of the sites are level. Nice paved roads with most sites on large concrete pads with water and electric (50A). We stayed on site 28 which is a pull-thru on a paved pad and is waterfront with beautiful panoramic views of Enid Lake.

Great location, not well kept
When you arrive the office is closed, just a phone number to check in. Very poor signage, sites are poorly marked. No lights for late arrivals. Branches down in the roads and sites. Roads had poor drainage and large puddles. Sites are paved and fairly level. You may need a long potable water hose, 50+ feet. The bathhouse was heated with hot showers and clean toilet stalls. This is a fishing hotspot with lots of boats and folks fishing from the shores. Sardis Lake is impressive and attracts hundreds of sportsmen. This is an inexpensive and convenient location if you have modest expectations.

Really nice campground
This campground is huge! They offer full hookups and lots of sites with water views! There are several different “loops” within the campground. The majority of the sites are level and spacious. The closer you get to the water, the closer some of the sites get together, but not all. This place is very popular during the summer months with the boating crowd.

There are several bathhouses throughout the campground, but beware if you are needing to use them for showers! Not all of them are full shower houses, so you might have to walk further or drive to one with a shower.

The playground still looks to be the original from the 70’s. I do wish they would upgrade that for the families with kids.

There is a walking trail that says closed, but according to the camp host it is actually open. Wish I would have known that sooner as I love to hike.

There is a store near by with gas, live fishing bait and any last minute forgotten items. They have breakfast biscuits in the mornings!

This place is a ghost town. Half
Half of the park is abandoned/closed down and only one bath house is up and running. The few spots they do have are taken up by gigantic big rigs that don’t need the bathrooms so it’s terribly set up. The Ranger will try to bamboozle you into staying there when you are looking for the park next door (Hernando Point-Oak Grove).

Very rough campground
While many sites have full service, this campground is badly in need of repairs and maintenance. I am not sure if any of the bathrooms are open as I went to 3, that were out of service Oddly, there was a small building with laundry. The northern part of the campground appears to only have a few sites in the upper numbers that were open. Most sites in the northern part are grown up in weeds and the concrete tables were in bad shape The staff was very nice! . We stayed one night then moved just to the south to the COE campground that is much better maintained.

Oh, if only one were to mow
This is our close by getaway. Usually pretty solid, not great, but not bad. This time, we’ll, it was pretty ugly around here. Looks like it has been weeks since the grass was cut. Talking to another camper, he said this park is known for never getting mowed. The water spigot was in a several inches of water, trash littered campsites, just overall, this place needs to do better. It has so much potential.
