Nice size TV park w cabins

Thanks dyrt for pointing us here. For 30$ a night u get a level gravel drive thru spot electric, sewer, water, and wifi, laundry facilities and bath house very very clean. Very quiet all thru the day and night. Friendly people all round. 5 min to walmart, tractor supply, and many restaurants and gas stations. Spacious lots so you arent right up on each other. Theres rental lots and cabins by the night, week and month. Theres saved spaces for those who just want a pulling over night. Theres big rigs here and small ones. Vintage and brand new. These are friendly people you can sit a chair or 2 outside and not have someone pounding on your door at 7am yelling about a toy or a chair left out all night. This is our face in canton so far. Lovely place with country atmosphere. Pet friendly and spacious. All u need is right here. Thank you ms. Kay and staff.

      Movietown Campground

Nice campground. Clean place and friendly staff. This is a good stop to stay a night when needed. Not very private and just a camper lot without any nice views, picnic tables, etc. It worked for us as a quick overnight rest.

      Lake Chicot State Park Campground

      nice park

After booking through Arkansas State Parks website, we received a follow up call from the park itself which was unusual but very nice. We booked site 42 in area B but there was standing water in the site so we got site 50. We chose this site because it was on higher ground and relatively close to the bath house in area D. The bath house in our area is no longer opened. Bath house D is very nice. We had no problems switching sites probably due to the off season.

Camping areas C and E are closed. Area F has full hook-ups and 30 amps. The sites are nice but a little short. Cabins are VERY nice. Area A contains the prime sites with full hook-ups and 30 and 50 amps. There is a bait store and a marina which rents boats (closed due to off-season). There is a fishing pier, basketball court, pool, 3 pavilions, playground, and a horseshoe pit. The visitor's center is very nice and informative.

Wildlife seems to be abundant as we saw dozens of deer, large raccoons, squirrels, pelicans, and ducks.

Cell phone (Verizon) and antenna reception are good possibly because there are no leaves on the trees.

      Leroy Percy State Park Campground

Small state park makes a great stopover

Leroy Percy State Park is a small, but pretty state park with 16 full hookup campsites, 4 cabins and a nice disc golf course. Most of the campsites are shaded, at least for part of the day. Other than one other camper who appeared to have been there awhile, we were the only occupied campsite. Mosquitoes caused us to eat dinner inside our trailer, although it was otherwise nice enough to eat outside. The bathrooms were old, but mostly clean. The only exception being the handicapped men's shower which was a mess.

      Pecan Grove RV Park

      Nice and quiet

Pecan Grove is a nice place to stay overnight. They have several cabins (even a couple on the lake) and RV campsites. We stayed in the same pull through site this year. Dog park fenced in with a dog bag/trash station. Bathrooms were clean - not a single spiderweb or bug on the wall/floor.

      Leroy Percy State Park Campground

5 star park, but still recovering from storms

Quiet small campground in Mississippi Delta. Pretty lake for fishing and easy 18 hole disc golf course. Sites are well spaced. Full hookups. We stayed in site 1. Pretty view of lake. Next to dump but all sites are full hookups ups so no one used it. But could have been an issue.

The climate remains mild from autumn through spring, while summer months often reach high humidity and temperatures above 90°F. Cabins near Belzoni, Mississippi provide shelter options beyond traditional tent camping in an area known for its abundant wildlife including deer, raccoons, and numerous bird species.

    What to do

Disc golf course access: Leroy Percy State Park maintains an 18-hole disc golf course through wooded areas and open spaces. "We brought our kayaks and got some fishing done in alligator lake but inly after playing an 18 hole disc golf course!" reports JR R. at Leroy Percy State Park Campground.

Fishing opportunities: Lake Chicot provides productive fishing waters near cabin accommodations. "There is a bait store and a marina which rents boats (closed due to off-season). There is a fishing pier," notes a visitor at Lake Chicot State Park Campground. The park's location offers access to both freshwater fishing and bird watching opportunities.

Wildlife viewing: Early mornings at cabin sites provide optimal wildlife viewing. "Wildlife seems to be abundant as we saw dozens of deer, large raccoons, squirrels, pelicans, and ducks," writes Steve S. about the Lake Chicot area. Dawn hours offer particularly good opportunities for photography and birdwatching.

    What campers like

Peaceful setting: Cabin guests appreciate the quiet surroundings at Leroy Percy. "Great little park, Mississippi's first state park, nice small park very clean and well maintained beautiful big trees along the waters edge, quiet and relaxing open year round," shares Steve S. after staying at Leroy Percy State Park.

Clean facilities: Visitors consistently mention well-maintained bathrooms and cabin areas. "The bathhouse in our area is no longer opened. Bath house D is very nice," notes a camper about Lake Chicot State Park. Most cabins require short walks to central bathroom facilities.

Convenience for hunters: Cabin rentals serve as practical base camps for hunting trips. "We stayed during a hunting trip and used the campground because of its close proximity to where we hunted. The showers and restrooms were well taken care of," reports Brian Keith P. The cabins provide secure storage and comfortable accommodations during hunting seasons.

    What you should know

Seasonal insect concerns: Bug protection is essential, particularly during warmer months. "Mosquitoes caused us to eat dinner inside our trailer, although it was otherwise nice enough to eat outside," explains Terry P. about Leroy Percy State Park. Cabins provide refuge from insects that are particularly active at dusk.

Limited occupancy in winter: Many cabins remain available during cooler months with fewer visitors. "Very quiet as there was only one other camper there," reports Rod R. about off-season stays at Pecan Grove RV Park, which offers cabin accommodations approximately 42 miles from Belzoni.

Water proximity safety: Some cabins sit very close to water bodies requiring caution. "Cabins are close to the bayou. Would be very cautious with children," warns Mary H. Most waterfront cabin sites lack dedicated barriers or fencing between structures and water.

    Tips for camping with families

Evening activities planning: Prepare indoor evening entertainment options during high insect seasons. "Noseeums and other mosquitoes a little bad but could be worse," explains Ron P. about fall stays at Lake Chicot State Park. Board games and card games can provide alternatives when outdoor evening activities become uncomfortable.

Bathroom facilities vary: Family stays require understanding bathroom access options. "Bathroom and showers were great. Clean, good water pressure and plenty of hot water," reports a visitor at Movietown RV Park, which offers cabin rentals about 70 miles from Belzoni.

Water safety precautions: Families staying in waterfront cabins should establish clear rules about water access. "The lakeside sites on so nice. You can watch the sun sets on the lake. There are cypress trees at the lake's edge all around the lake," notes Mary about Lake Chicot, highlighting the proximity of water features to accommodation sites.

    Tips from RVers

Advance registration systems: RV travelers note varied check-in procedures at cabin facilities. "We got in late so we registered at the closed office door by putting our $27 payment in an envelope in the door slot. How convenient!" explains John N. about Movietown RV Park.

Road conditions: Access roads to some cabin areas require careful navigation. "The roads to our camp site was horrible. The only good experience was the bath house," reports a visitor about conditions at Lake Chicot State Park during certain seasons.

Grocery planning: Limited shopping options near cabin locations require advance meal planning. "The nearby town is small, but does have groceries and a few good restaurants," notes Mary about Lake Village near Lake Chicot State Park. Most visitors recommend purchasing supplies before arriving at cabin sites.
