Chippewa national Forrest Marcell Area mn

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reached via Highway 38 with a left turn onto Forest Road 2153, this dispersed site in the Chippewa National Forest near Marcell requires navigating a rough path off the main road. Low clearance is a factor. One camper made it through in a van, arriving at a large open area with a dug-out fire pit and dense tree cover suited to hammock camping. Campers exploring the region can find campgrounds around Deer River or the nearby Chippewa NF Dispersed near Oxbow Lake just 0.4 miles south. This spot works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with unmarked access and no formal amenities.

Off 2153

Took 38, took a left on 2153 and drove until we saw a path to the right. Drove in with a van, low clearance but we made it. Lead to a large space with dug out fire pit. Lots of trees for hammock.
