Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds

RV rallies and group gatherings find accommodating space at Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds, where level sites handle rigs up to 50 feet. The fairgrounds operates as a campground from mid-May through October, closing briefly during fair season in late July and early August. Most sites include 30/50-amp electric hookups, with water available through shared spigots or direct hookups on select perimeter sites.

The campground maintains a practical layout without landscaping, focusing on functionality over aesthetics. Ron S. notes it's "not busy and quiet," reflecting the straightforward atmosphere many RV campers prefer. A recently updated bathhouse provides individual shower facilities, and the dump station receives positive mentions from visitors. Sites accommodate both electric-only and full-hookup preferences, with exterior sites typically offering better water access.

Traverse City's restaurants and attractions sit within easy driving distance, making this a practical base for exploring northwestern Michigan. The fairgrounds offers weekly discounts, with the seventh night free for extended stays. For those wanting a more recreational setting, Holiday Park Campground provides an alternative just northwest of the area.

Good for RV Rally

We stayed July 2021 for an RV rally. We had no building of shelter for community gatherings. But, weather cooperated and we had a great time.

Power 50/30 were fine. Water is a shared spigot on most sites, but some sites have water. There is a good dump station. Sites are level. No landscaping.

Lots of restaurants and attractions in Traverse City.

We would stay again.
