Quiet & small

We chose this campground due to location (family event nearby). The sites are spacious and clean. The campground had 4 other occupied sites (seasonal?). We never saw another person during our visit. The sites have electric only. Water is shared between 3-4 sites, so you better bring a hundred feet…

  • Our site seemed to be the only one with a sledding hill.
  • Very clean shower. Only one stall.

Great riverfront sites

Very nice owners. Accommodating to our large family group. We are returning for a second time and reserving about 12 sites. The riverfront sites are great. Ice cream at the store is a bonus. The tube trip down the river is fun! It's a great option for tubing and camping without the wild party…

Worth the drive for us!

We took a group of 6 adults and 3 kids to Bay City which was a pretty good drive for us. We had a lot of fun! Park was clean and located across from the lake. There was a splash pad area for the kids which they begged to go to every day! The only bad thing was we had to drive our kayaks across the…

Incredibly beautiful and secluded

We stumbled on this campground accidentally but I am sure happy that we did! What a beautiful place. We were there in the late fall, so I imagine it most likely gets busy in the summer seeing as half the sights have lake access. Although, for a beautiful fall weekend there was wasn’t more than 3…

Not usually too busy unless there is a concert.

Some 50 amp site some 30 amp. Make sure to have cash or a check as the office is only staffed part time. You can do a self check in and leave in the drop box. No reservations here all site are fcfs.

Far away AND close to town...all at the same time!

We found this campground on a walk around the town of Ontonagon, but didn't get a chance to camp here as it was already closed for the season.  We caught it after the beauty of the fall color had already gone, but it's probably a stunner!  We'll be back sometime...

For such a township park, it…

  • Nice, rustic sites.
  • Views of Lake Superior.
  • The local water trail. We'll be back to try this someday!

Terrible Excuse for a “Resort”

They charge per person, so I paid $75 for my boyfriend and I to tent camp on the river for the 2 night minimum required. They are money grubbers who charge per person then put multiple parties on one site. Firewood available on site is soaking wet so had a lot of issues getting a fire started.…

Great campground

Clean bathrooms, easy access to lake, nice beach Make sure to bring extra hose and extension cord as the water and electric can be a ways away from some sites.

Bay City State Park Campground

This is a really nice campground with newer bathrooms. I saw two cabins. The campground is not right on the lake. You have to cross the road to get to the state park with a great beach and a small, two mile trail. The campsites are right next to each other but there were a lot of mature trees.…

Beautiful Campground

After several hours of searching for an open campsite for the weekend mid July we found this campground online and quickly reserved our site before it got snatched up. Nice peaceful drive there... pulled in to find they have recently just been acquired by KOA I believe as there was signage down…

Good for a one nighter or a casino stay

Pretty basic campground with paved sites and a nice lake. Not much space, trees or privacy. Looked like most of the sites were longer term/workers. Clean restrooms, showers and laundry. Casino shuttle. Wet firewood.

  • Lake shot.
