Stannard Township RV Park - CLOSED

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

RV travelers looking for a convenient stopover in Michigan's Upper Peninsula will find Stannard Township RV Park accommodates rigs up to 85 feet with full hookups. The municipal campground operates from May through November and sits within walking distance of Bruce Crossing's main services. Seven sites provide water and electric connections along with access to a dump station.

The township-owned facility keeps fees at $15 per night using an honor-system drop box, with revenue supporting local road maintenance. Clean restrooms and shower facilities serve campers, though Luke V. notes that "showers run out of hot water fast" during busy periods. Gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, and a hardware shop all sit within a few hundred feet of the campsites.

Cell service reaches two bars on Verizon networks according to camper reports. The campground's central location makes it a practical base for exploring the western Upper Peninsula, with Bond Falls Campground and Running Bear Resort both accessible for day trips. Wood for campfires can be purchased locally.

Note that recent visitors have reported temporary closures due to construction, so calling ahead is recommended. This no-frills facility works best for travelers prioritizing convenience and full hookups over wilderness camping experiences.

Many visitors appreciated the affordable $15 rate and basic hookups, with convenient walking access to gas, food, and supplies. Hot water availability in showers was limited, and the facility appeared closed as of 2020.

The campground appeared to be closed.  Orange construction fencing blocking entry when we arrived.  We had to scramble to find other accommodations.
