The access road into Fuller's Resort and Campground can be rough enough that at least one camper needed equipment assistance to get in and out, so rigs with low clearance should plan accordingly. The property sits on Clear Lake outside Buchanan, with sites distributed across wooded and open areas. Some spots feel private with trees on two or three sides; others are more exposed. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer are available, along with showers, laundry, and a camp store that stocks ice cream and snacks.
Water access is the campground's defining draw. The beach has soft sand and clear water, with canoe and paddleboard rentals on site. Dogs have a designated swim area. Weekends draw sizable crowds to the beach and throughout the property, and noise from neighboring sites has been a consistent complaint in reviews. Campers who value quiet nights may find the atmosphere difficult on busy summer weekends. Midweek visits see noticeably fewer people.
Site quality is uneven. Some spots are well-maintained; others are compact with mostly bare dirt and limited room for awnings or extra vehicles. Cleanliness has been inconsistent, with a few reviewers noting overflowing trash receptacles and unclean shower facilities. Nearby alternatives worth considering include Thousand Trails Bear Cave to the northeast and Oronoko Lakes farther north. Reservations are recommended for summer weekends, and requesting a wooded site away from the main beach area may improve the experience.
Description
We think Fuller's Resort and Campground is one of Southwest Michigan's best kept little hide aways. Life is simple here. Kids play, people relax and enjoy family, friends and the great outdoors... The door to the pavilion is crooked, the candy counter still entices kids as it has done for ages, people swim, fish or paddle a kayak across the lake and blue moon and butter pecan ice cream are sold nearly every day... There is just something warm and inviting about this place created by Pete Fuller that has brought people back since 1887. The age of the place gives it charm, generations of families as well as people passing through have come here, sat on the porch of the pavilion and enjoyed a moment. 80 acre spring fed Clear Lake with it's 400 feet of sandy beach, wooded country campground setting and wonderful history in Buchanan, Michigan is waiting for you to enjoy the pleasures of family, friends, campfires, sun, sand and water with us in beautiful Southwestern Michigan.
