Duck Lake State Park manages this free, drive-in campground set between Middle and Lower Unknown Lakes in Washington County, Maine. Around nine sites line the road that runs between the two lakes, with three sites positioned to take in water views on both sides. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with three pit toilets shared across the campground. Cell service is spotty at best, roughly 10 miles out, and the access road runs about 20 miles from pavement. Sites fill quickly in summer, so campers who arrive to find it full have nearby fallbacks in Duck Lake Public Reserved Land or Gassabias Lake campsites. Bugs can be heavy, particularly in early summer. This campground suits self-sufficient campers comfortable with remote access and pack-in/pack-out conditions.
