The Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands manages High Bank Campsite, a single boat-in site positioned on Churchill Lake's northwest shore within the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Paddlers often overlook this spot while traveling the waterway, though it sits directly across from the Jaws Campsites. The campsite features a rocky high bank on its south side and connects to the Jaws area via an eastern rock bar that creates a natural thoroughfare.
High Bank serves as one of the final camping opportunities before paddlers begin their downstream journey on the Allagash River, alongside Churchill Dam and the Jaws sites. The site offers notable privacy from the north but lacks an ideal canoe landing area. Basic amenities include a picnic table and fire ring, with pets and alcohol permitted for the $6-$12 nightly fee.
