Within Kisatchie National Forest, Bucktail Camp Complex operates as a US Forest Service campground open throughout the year. The facility sits on open terrain in the Haynesville area, providing campers with unobstructed space for tent and RV setups.
The complex's location places it roughly 8 miles from Homer and within easy reach of other forest camping options like Turkey Trot Complex, located about 3 miles east for those preferring a different setting.
Description
Visitors to Middle Fork's Bucktail Camp and Turkey Trot Camp should expect very primitive camping. Both camps are designated hunter's camps which means they are only maintained during hunting season. They are, however, open year-around and can be used by all visitors.
