Syracuse Sand Dunes Park

Hamilton County operates Syracuse Sand Dunes Park as a county campground that combines traditional camping with ATV recreation opportunities. The facility provides electric and water hookups for RVs, plus drinking water, restrooms, and shower facilities in a recently constructed bathhouse.

Sites fill quickly and require advance reservations, particularly during poker runs and ATV rodeos held several times throughout the year. The park features a small pond for fishing and swimming, while the main draw remains the sand dunes open for off-road vehicle riding. A private campground with additional hookup sites operates beyond the main camping area. Gas stations and grocery stores sit about five minutes away by vehicle, and the park maintains cell service coverage for campers needing connectivity.

$15 dry camping anywhere you want. $34 for full hookups.

I decided to stay here on my way to Colorado. Got tired of driving so I looked it up on dirt and Google maps. It's definitely for off-road vehicles. Very Sandy. But you just basically camp anywhere you want inside the park. Super nice guy that checked me in that was part of the staff at the shower house. It does appear they have showers, trash bins and it's right on the Arkansas River.

Fun In the Sand

Limited spots

Amazing staff

Clean and maintained

Small pond for fishing swimming

Great sand dunes for riding at..they have poker runs and atv/utv rodeos several times a year. Brand NEW bathhouse.

Sites are taken quickly so reserve well ahead of time. There is another private campground (more of a dirt lot with hookups) past the main area.

Usually family friendly but can get rowdy on poker run weekends.

Gas and groceries about 5 minutes from park
